Description Had sleep paralysis early one morning while trying to wake up and "saw" this creature or woman looming over me. She had two spider legs (if more, I couldn't see) and was smiling with no face. Lasted about 2 minutes and it was terrifying at the time. It was amazing.

Definitely felt like something I had to draw right when I woke up to remember the details. I don't feel like the "face" I drew here is really accurate though. It was kind of hard to make out or explain. Also, unlike this image, the room felt really bright at the time like there was a floodlight on the ceiling. (But I felt the darkness worked better for this particular image).

Marked as Mature for creepiness because there were complaints last time.

Sleep paralysis is perhaps the paragon of Paralyzed with Fear.

Lol, terrifying and amazing. I could see you being someone that would have a situation, say, where some wild animal was about to attack you out of nowhere, and you would be like this is terrifying . . . but amazing! haha

Yeah, I had this happen too, very creepy but kinda fun, most days are boring so it was cool to feel that uneasy. Just me though, I don't know if most people would enjoy this.

Going through my subscription to your art has been a wild ride. There's mainly Stupid Fox, but then there's stuff like this, and it's very different and everything is so cool.

Do you think that's all of the creature, or is the rest of it immaterial/hidden? The questions this raises, and the hair-raising answers each one suggests...

That's a side effect of Sleep Paralysis; being unable to move, but still "awake" and absolutely convinced that something or someone is in the room with you, I witnessed this myself, it's nothing to worry about. Absolutely normal. c=

I allways freak out about how you have the talent to draw those ultra sweet things like the stupid fox comics and on the next upload there are those creepy as shit creatures (i mean like the good kind of shit... well, i think you know what i mean). I'ts amazing how you have this talent for both.

I had nightmare in my childhood
where I hanged on old iron chain over smelly hot liquid and my arms hurt me.
My arms put between two gears and it squelches my bones painful.
It was so real and terrible.

I had sleep paralysis a couple of times and I did my god damn best to keep my eyes shut, who know maybe I wasn't even able to open them.
But I was really curious as to what I'd see, but I knew that it would probably mess me up for the next month or so

Last time I had sleep paralysis there was this "shadow dog" which came through the door and towards me. I was so terrified, but he headed for my feet and when I woke up it was like he crawled up beside them. ^^ And the picture is really great. I first thought of the Despair demons from Dragon Age Inquisition. Sleep paralysis is super creepy though

I never got nightmares during it (thankfully -_-) except once I felt a hand on me before I woke up.

Phew! That sure is scary! I usually see shadowy things or ghosts with red eyes when I have sleep paralysis or hypnagogic sleep hallucinations, whether my eyes are closed or not. The figures have never been looming over me though. They're usually just on my dresser or in my bed.

Something about that mix of human and bug form makes it so disturbing (I love it). Plus, the whole experience of seeing a creature that causes your own sleep paralysis or something suggests a good horror/fantasy story.

I've had sleep paralysis a few times, but I other than the not being able to move nothing ever really scared me. The last thing I can remember that was either sleep paralysis or a very vivid dream was not being able to do anything while my mom, and one of her friends stole all the extra pillows out of my closet.

Benthehyena [2016-05-14 12:20:10 +0000 UTC]

I never had sleep paralysis. My mom is sure because I have holy images and figures in my room
However, not sure if I want to or not. Seeing this kind of thing in (what you think at the moment) real life must be horribly scary.
