Description My first HDR image using photomatix.
Originally i was only using this image as a test but it came out better than expected so i have decided to upload it.

I used the 1 raw shot that i had and made another 2 copies with a +/- 2 stop exposure gap. Then used photomatix to create the HDR and finally adjusted the tone mapping until i was happy.

This hdr tonemapping technique is just stunning, isn't it. Can be very addictive, i beware .

lovely detail and i like the concept and the aspect of 'remains from a past civilisation '
that's what i imagine while looking at it.
great work.

Simply breathtaking!

My mother gets photos like these and makes paintings from them. In fact, she has done paintings of skeleton boats similar to this one twice. They are both stunning paintings. This would make as stunning a painting as it is a photo.

I might purchase a print of this for her when I get some $. If she does make a painting of it, I'll send a photo of it to you.

Wow, that would be so awesome. Let me know how big of a print you would need and maybe we can sort something out?

I'm working to get some pics taken now of the watercolors she's done of her beached skeleton boats. I'll put them on my DA page when I get them done. Got family sickness so I'm kinda on and off DA these days, more off than on I'm afraid.

I LOVE to support my fellow artists--love to buy prints!

The best way is to use separate exposures using Auto exposure bracketing in camera but for times when you forget/dont do it this method seems to work ok

Thank you

i love the "amber" one, but this is way awesome too!! i wont pick a favorite. it wouldnt be fair. its like asking "which one's better: chocolate or skittles?" you can't answer that!!!
