Description 6/22/11: An M26 Pershing Tank...Amerika's late war answer to Panthers and Tigers...didn't seem to matter much when you had control of the skies...still not as good as a Tiger but better than a Sherman!

I realize this is really an M46 Patton, an improved Pershing...Thanks to Osprey: New Vanguard #35! and PanzerschreckLeopard!

It's an M46 Patton actually. The main difference is engine/transmission.

I'm sure you are correct...I always thought they were pretty much the same thing....That's what happens when you don't go to your Osprey library due to laziness! Thanks!

The mufflers are easiest way to tell. All M46's have that small tensdion wheel below drive sprocket (which is also mounted higher) whist Pershings didn't

^.^ Just a few key areas. Oh! Also, the turret roof machine gun. The M26 has a singe mount behind and between the hatches: [link] The M46 has a 2nd mount infront of commander;s hatch: [link]
