11/27/10: Spent part of Saturday in Cicero poking around the remains of the Manufacturer's Junction Railroad. On the right is the roundhouse which appears in good shape. Rusted tracks where SW1s once roamed... Site seemed totally abandoned, access from the Menard's Parking lot to the north. No fence to keep us out!Related content

This looks like an area that I'd love to walk around and take some photos. It reminds me when there were a few old rail spurs left (they are gone now) and they were not fenced off. I used to walk around those areas.

They'll get there eventually. If your like me your always busy so it's hard to comment and keep up on like 117 deviant stacks with 10,000 pictures! At least I get a 2 week break now!

Kinda tempted to pick up a few souvenirs before they get stolen for scrap or destroyed. Still kicking myself for not snagging a couple of CNW relics when i had the chance

As of Saturday, it was open and accessible around the Roundhouse, which was buttoned down. Park in the Menards lot off of Cicero Ave, or drive next to Menards south fence. Google Earth shows a great satellite view.
