I would really love to know what her life was like before she ran away to Republic city. She must have been really lonely. I saw a post on Tumblr that compared her to a wild animal in a cage, explaining that she could understand the spirits trpped in the spirit world, therefore choosing to leeave the portals open. I think it makes a lot of sense. I can only imagine growing up without having friends my age. Of course Korra has an attitude, she spent almost half of her life between high walls with adults.
