i. suck. at. hair.i'm beginning to think that maybe i should get some oil pastels or something, they seem to be like crayons, but probably give a smoother look... ahhhh but i shouldnt spend money...

I had a friend that dresses like that all the time... she's a very strange person...
At my store we sell oil pastels individually, I don't think Michael's does that. So if there is a store nearby that is artier than Michael's you may be able to try them out on scratch paper. The student grade brand Reeve's is pretty decently priced, like $3.89 for a 12 pack at my store. (Michael's may have that brand, but it might be a lil more.)

hmmm i dont know if we have stores like the one you work at near me. we used to have this one non chain art store near but it went out of business (they had awesome less than known brands, and i got my now filled up sketch pad there, and i cant seem to find it anywhere else.) the good news is that they had this huge sale at the end and i got a shit load of supplies for like 60-70% off. it was greatttt!
thank youuuu! i did the gas mask first, so i pretty much had all the patience in the world, and idk the goggles interested me so i took my time on that. byt he time i got to the hair i was just like GAHHH SCREW IT *quick finish* bad bad habits

I've used oil pastels once in 9th grade... and just remember that i hated it, but that's just cuz I draw small and it's hard to get detail with them. I'll mess with them at work tomorrow and see if I have a change of heart. lol.
Yeah, I don't like doing hair much myself, I only like doing skin tones.

the last time i used oil pastels was in 8th grade, it was pretty big sized though, like poster board sized or something. it didn't come out too too good but that was almost 2 years ago so i still want to see what i can do with pastels.
yeah, skin tones are a lot easier than hair (for me, obviously lol) i always see these awesome pictures with like intercate realistic looking hair and im just like GAHHH HOW?!?! i think i was just born hair retarded
