Description Just finished my first squad of Grey Knight Terminators;incredibly happy with how they look in terms of the color scheme and intend for this to be more or less the final color scheme for my entire army. The only question is whether to obtain a Dreadknight www.games-workshop.com/en-US/G… or perhaps a Stormraven www.games-workshop.com/en-US/S… though I should be careful choosing with the new formation permitting two vehicles,if that is you want the bonus and a lot of people frown upon "unbound armies.Since I'm talking about rules what do you all think of the new Grey Knight codex with them having lower costs for basic troop choices and them having been split from the Inquisitorial choices (They are getting a standalone book now).*

Please do tell me how you think they look and enjoy them!**

*Please give us more options for Inquisitors in the form of a multi part kit please?
**Maybe a tad bit less if you play Chaos since Grey Knights exorcise Chaos Daemons ,though in all fairness they put up a good fight too.All the buffs on both sides when the two factions are present make games very awesome.

Warhammer 40,000 belongs to Games Workshop

I very work - the splash of green and the leaves you used really make them stand out a bit compared to the 'standard' Grey Knight look.

Thank you very much!I figured the coat of arms and supporting details could be a little more lively since the Grey Knights are a proud chapter and rightfully so. That and so many Grey Knight armies look the same that having a few differences while still maintaining what makes them cool was a good route for me to go.

I think those were excellent design choices.Β  It definitely gives them a feel all their own.

The leaf material I purchased was very fun to work with and even though they're in the dark millennium they should still look aesthetically interesting.I'll do my best to keep on painting and improving!

Hmm, not bad. They could use a few more highlights though, maybe an overall lighter color, as the armour is supposed to be ironically silver.

Thank you!Silver fits them very well so I went with a darkened silver because isn't Terminator armor really rare even for a chapter that would be really well supplied like the Grey Knights?Still it is a valid point and perhaps my vehicles can be a touch lighter since the background fluff doesn't quite say they're overly hard to reproduce in the 41 millennium.

The Grey Knights would and do have the largest supply of Terminator armour in the Imperium, but regardless remember that they are among the most zealous of all Imperial branches and would have their armour almost always immaculately cleaned

Harder to use them all up when your chapter is so very small and specialized though any blow that could kill a Grey Knight must leave a rather gaping hole making it harder to reuse than what might end other Terminators(Though they are rather tough as well).I remember the descriptions of the Artificier's supply of them in "The Emperor's Gift" sounding fantastic though.Great book and I intend to get the reprinted Grey Knight omnibus with Alaric seeing as a few of my friends have read and enjoyed the trilogy as a whole.

That is a valid point regarding the color as well ,yet everybody has them rather shiny so why not differentiate them a wee bit?My question is whether for any purifiers/Crowe I might get if I should use the cream I used on half of the shields to make them a tad bit unique or just go with white..........

Thank you very much! The green and cream-ish white shields really contrast the worn silver.Your own Ultramarines look rather nice to your credit;they would make Guilliman quite proud!

As i can see your style includes these bright colors really interesting, nearly as different like the pink necrons, and good, of course ^^

I would never say that about my miniatures ^^ it is a solid style I won't feel bad at taking with me on the table, but nothing to win a competition with

They certainly look nice and there're are no problems going with the default color scheme though different shoulder highlights for the different companies do look good instead of the default gold trim ,although some of them look better than others.

I like bright colors a lot though;I know it's the dark future of the 41st Millennium ,yet I try to make my color schemes aesthetically appealing though I should invest in some more of those brilliant Citadel Edge paints with my next online order from them. My only problem is how my phone doesn't do them justice ,but oh well.

Say do you think I should get a Dreadknight or a Stormraven when I am in the mood for expanding them if I might ask?I'm at a little bit of an impasse deciding.

I will always make the golden pauldrons, thats how i see the ultramarines
I know they are meant to be the second company, but i donΒ΄t care. I love it! (the colorcombination )
The veterans will get their white trim, that will be the only variation
Even though i tried the other variations, nothing looked as much as a spacemarine as the second company colors!

I love the idea of bright colors! Especially in the grim dark future!Β
The Marines I make will be as close as possible to the original content. But the names... Look at the Rhinos "Snoopy" and "Moody" and another one at my Landraider "Grumpy Cow" (in a point in the future)

If you think the GW-colors are too expensive, i can give you the translation chart to the Vallejo colors, about 50€ct cheaper than games workshop and 50% more paint! (just for every color but the newest effect range)

What do you want for your army? Do you need a Flyer for air superiority and transport or more punch on the ground level?Β
I personally favor the Stormraven because i want to get one myself

I have to say the flying bases are noticeably better for bigger flying units;they don't work well when they're the small ones without pivots have a nasty habit of breaking and my Eldar Waverider can attest to that;yet they still sort of maintain that idea without that, amazing what freehand stuff is possible on eldar tanks though.

Say what do you think of my sketches if you're into that?

Good, but i am a really bad reference
Especially because i simoly cannot draw anything more complex than a square

Drawing is something that i tried myself many times.

I get sometimes a pleasing result, but usually it doesn't end up well
You can find one of my better works here on dA but i am only able to draw small details...
I am good at technical drawings. They only require knowledge of the thing you want to draw and how to use a drawing board!

A smart way to make your veterans more recognizable on the battlefield;after all an opponent should know what they shall soon fear so far as Marines go against mob armies. Certainly the golden pauldrons are iconic though!

I like Formula P3 ,but I'll try Vallejo out sometime;thanks!

Never heard of the formula colors

The vallejo are quite comparable to the gw-colors, at least this is my opinion. You will have to use a painting plate, because you cannot use the brush with the bottle, but on the other hand mixing your own color has never been easier!

I also have some small boxes where I can fit in my colors from a single group. Like all reds and browns, blue tones, grey, metallics and so on.
This is also quite handy!
