Description Detailed Praecoferredae species family reference file

Note: This is a species reference i consider in a beta stage so i will still be editing this project until i deem it fit for finalization.

Part 1-Race basics-

Culture and history: The praecoferredaens are a race of crested bear-like creatures, and they are known for their farming, decent strength, and loyalty. Their kind can be commonly found in less cold habitats between and in the Korea and France localities, but it doesn't mean they can't survive the average freezing climate of their origin world. Their culture is heavily based on farming and the general motive of using and replenishing nature, as well as helping others that deserve aid.

The silkours like to construct their buildings with plant matter, iron, and fabric, as they prefer the texture and look of buildings made with these materials. Most structures are typically European/Asian style with an emphasis on insulation and are decorated with preserved plants or designs reminiscent of crops the particular community grows. Their clothing follows a similar style to their constructions, with most clothing being Koren types with French style details. The aesthetic of the clothing is designed to be reminiscent of nature or particular plants, most commonly fruits or vegetables.

Gomagris are as friendly and peaceful as they seem at first glance, but they can be a bit skittish at times. Most if not all are known to be pure-hearted creatures who will protect loved ones in the face of great danger, and use their agreeable nature and friendly appearance for good reasons only. Their strength, loyalty, and natural knowledge of the land make them valuable allies and workers to have on one's side, especially for farming or tending to landscapes.

Deities: Like all sapient beings from the Whimsy version of Earth, the praecoferres believe in Infinity, and the various deities that are either associated or enemies with her. They have many different temples they often worship, hold weddings, or sacred ceremonies in, and each different temple type has its own high priest or priestess in charge; though they all are overseen by a lead high priest or priestess.

Part 2-Physical anatomy and dietary needs-

Head and eyes: The head of a praecoferre is bear-like with round and small ears, long-ish hair on the back, and a hairless face with a short snout. Their most notable feature is their crown-like crest with hard gem-like growths on the base.

Neck and torso: The neck and body are bear-like with short fur, and the belly of the silkours is also bald like the face. They also have particularly

Limbs, hands and feet: The arms and hands of silkours are bear-like with retractable claws, and the arms have very long and silky fur that drapes smoothly down. Their legs are digitigrade and bear/like with shorter fur, as well as retractable claws on the feet.

Tail and extra appendages: Silkours have short-ish, fluffy, and flexible bear-like tails.

Known mutations: Few physical mutations outside of extreme coloration are known for the praecoferres, but they have a few rare occurrences. Some individuals will be plumper either from excess fur or blubber, others may have larger paws, be born abnormally small, and/or have the bald patch on their face only be on their snouts.

Diet: Praecoferres are omnivores that primarily consume fruits and vegetation, but they also need to eat meat for a balanced diet and can eat other edible foods as well.

Part 3-Natural abilities, sounds and locomotion-

Assorted abilities: Praecoferres have a few natural talents that help them survive in the wild and live the way they do in their cultures. They have a good sense of smell that can easily tell the difference between similar scents, are quite strong, can still have good vision in fog, can tolerate low oxygen areas, are able to dig tunnels, can go without food for 20 weeks, and have a sharper memory than most other creatures.

Sounds and calls: The silkours typically make high-pitched-ish bear-like roars and calls, mainly to communicate or attract a mate.

Locomotion: Silkours typically walk on their hind legs, but they can also move just as well on all fours too. They also swim like polar bears when traveling in the water.

Part 4-External and internal functions and coloring-

Pelt and skin colors: The skin of a silkours is mostly covered by thick and short-ish fur with the exception of the face, belly, and underarms. The bottom of their arms have long silky fur, and the middle of their face and their lower bellies are bald and expose their thick but soft skin.

Body fluids, flesh and bone: The flesh of a praecoferre is rose pink and their bones are snow white in color. Their blood is light-ish red, tears and saliva pale blue, urine and sweat pale gold, and the rest of their fluids are transparent pinkish white.

Part 5-Emotional behavior and mating-

Natural behavior and expressions: Praecoferres are a particularly peaceful race of bear-like creatures, typically staying in groups of 25 or more in the same territory; though they will migrate and explore sometimes. They don't often fight each other or other creatures unless the creature is a legitimate threat, in which silkours use their retractable claws and the gem-like bone growth on their foreheads to do battle. Silkours express their emotions like most other creatures do, such as smiling when happy, frowning when annoyed or sad, and lightly snarling when angry.

Mating and reproduction: When a silkours want to find a mate they emit a soft but loud cry until someone comes for them, and if another of their kind of the opposite sex approaches they will discuss if they should be together. If the pair agree to date, then they will begin the mating process. As the two go through the typical 7 to 9 month dating process, the pair will spend as much time bonding and getting to know each other. If the two silkours are able to stay together, one or the other present a wedding proposal gift relevant to the likes of the receiver. If the other agrees to permanently mate with their date, the two will engage in a ritual act of pressing together their head gems and noses for a minute or less to signify loyalty. The time it takes for the pair to start copulating isn't very specific, but it usually takes a while before they do so.
Praecoferres males have retractable, large, and wide-ish penises and females have large and soft cloacae. Their copulation takes about 4 to 7 minutes, and a pair must copulate 4 consecutive days at least once per day to impregnate the female; with the female giving birth to 1 cub 8 months later. Couples that only want to be with each other can just skip a day to fully reverse the process and remain happily childless.

Part 6-growth stages-

Babies and newborns: Baby silkours are quite weak physically and mentally, but their curiosity requires extensive care. They can also only eat soft food and need to be fed often to maintain a healthy weight.

Toddlers and kids: At 2 years old, cubs become smarter and are able to move faster and climb, and even eat solid foods. They are still not mature or educated enough to look after themselves and still heavily rely on the teachings and care of their parents to survive.

Teenagers: At 14 years, cubs become teenaged and go through much more substantial changes. Teens are much smarter and physically than children, as well as more independent, self-sufficient, and capable of forming romantic relationships. Despite their promising development, silkours cubs aren't fully capable of taking care of themselves and still need some guidance from their parents.

Adults and elders: When juveniles become 20, they are completely grown up and will go on to find their own homes and fend for themselves. Praecoferres adults are sexually mature and fully physically and mentally capable of surviving on their own, and they will gain more of an urge to find a mate of their own because of their adulthood. Silkours reach an elderly age of 75 and live at least to 100 years.

Part 7-Known genuses and species-

Herarear: This genus of 10 species includes The
Silken Sleet Herarear, Gold Malted Herarear, Black Blood Clawed Gomagris, Silver Seal Herarear, Chocolate Bronze Herarear, White Saddled Sun Gomagris, Frill-Furred Snow Gomagris, Ruby Gold-Clawed Gomagris, and The Red Saddled Dark Gomagris. The group is generally the most authoritative of their race, and they are best adapted for high-altitude regions and mildly stormy climates. They tend to have thicker fur, somewhat shorter heights, shorter snouts, and shorter claws, as well as a better tolerance for low air pressure. Nature colors of the herarear genus are reds, white, black, browns, greys, gold, and yellows; they can also have ticking patterns too.

Jeadeurs: The species of this genus are The Bare-Handing Sikle-Clawed Silkours, and The Bald limbed Gomagris, and they tend to have braver demeanors than the rest of their kind. They are best suited for mountainous regions, typically having shorter limb fur, smaller ears, and shorter crests. The colors jeadeurs can naturally have are black, white, greys, caramels, and creams; they can also have ticking as a pattern.

Ungny: This 4 species genus contains The Moon Crested Gomagris, Bare-Hooded Cape Furred Silkours, Manderin-Silk Ungny, and The Red-ish Green Swamp Ungny. This genera's species are the most passive and friendly of their race, though not by much since all praecoferres are quite friendly. Ungnys are much more adapted to swamp-like environments, often having longer ears, tall height, and much longer fur overall; also have a higher starvation tolerance if they can't find food. The natural colors that can be in their color scheme are oranges, black, creams, dark greens, dark reds, pale purples, white, caramels, browns, and dark-ish yellows; also can also have ticking patterns depending on the species as well.
