First, I want to give you credit for the amount of detail you put into this.
For another thing, I kind of like how you painted the background so she isn't just floating in a white space. It's the little things that really make it work! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="
You also did a great job with the lighting and shading on her hair and clothes, and the way you have her hair and the ribbons flowing, because that adds depth and movement to the picture.
Finally, she looks so adorable! I love the way her eyes came out especially.

This is absolutely beautiful. The proportions are perfect, The dress is perfect, her face is perfect, the colouring is perfect... Everything is just perfect about this drawing!
She looks shy, but also very daring, judging on her Gothic Lolita Style.
The details are absolutely amazing, and the shading is perfect.

This is fantastic art. I really loved the way you drew her dress & everything. Her hair, the long, black flowing hair gives a great effect; just like in the movies, slow motion, flowing hair. Her lips, looking like she's trying to smile; though her eyes look sad; or not showing interest.
Anyways, let us move on.
I think that you should have made her breasts smaller, as it fits her look more. Also, her right arm looks kind of longer than the other one if you look closely. I also agree with the other critique, the eyes should have been a tad lighter. You could have made her eyes light grey, or red so that her eyes float in all of the dark colors.
Oh well, awesome work!

I'm just in love with your art! The highlights are great, the shadows are great! I especially love the hair and texture of it (like how it looks like real hair I guess that's how I'm going with it lol!), even though she has dark hair.
The only thing I wish for was if the eyes were a tad bit lighter. since everything else is so dark, her eyes kind of disappear, that is to me they do.
And I no you probably noticed but on the left upper part of her dress (her right) it's darker, but I'm sure that's the shadow there, but it just kind of looks out of place and noticeable.
All in all, you do amazing art work! So creative.

When I see this, I think watercolor but it's probably something else.
The texture of the page is wonderful to my eyes, and when I see it over the skin it makes me cringe ever so slightly and yet I enjoy the texture that the page gives to the skin.
The way the arms and face are colored I can see where the sun or light is coming from and why those shadows are there.

Originality. My old nemesis.
I gave this a 4 for originality because I haven't seen much art like this around for quite some time.
I can' really explain the rating for this any other way. It's like taking out my heart cleaning up all the bad parts and throwing out the good parts to give you. Then going through the bad things that could help you and give you those.
Technique:

The technique you use in your art is marvelous.
Candy to my eyes. The depth you give to your art is amazing.
I feel like this lady could reach out and slap me at anytime. Or give me a hug.
And I enjoy seeing her gravity defying hair. Reminds of Final Fantasy.
The shading on her the lower part of her right arm is wonderful by the way.

When I see her face.
I see a smile.
And a pair of emotionless eyes.
Is it a dark secret that hides behind those eyes? Or perhaps years of pain locked away in the abyss of the mind.
I cannot quite explain it, but those eyes and that smile remind me of a girl I once knew.
And that was the very ordeal with her.
Thus, impact 4.5
And just on a personal note.
I like her neck. It's not too short and yet not too long.
At the very least she has a neck. Most people can't get the proportion of the body or neck just right. You have practically accomplished that in mos of your art. Congratulations!

I like the attention to detail in a lot of the smaller areas. The variation in the lacing, the nice effect of the corset, the subtle curves in the anatomy, etc. I think you have nice handling of the watercolor technique. Consistency of that type of paint is really hard to create, but you've done a fantastic job of laying the paint where you want. The highlights in the hair are incredible!
I think Gothic Lolita is something a lot of people can fall back on, but I do think because of the attention to detail you've included, it doesn't fall in the realm of cliche. The realistic approach to take to anime helps with that as well (you do have the bigger eyes but not gargantuan, you pay attention to physics and anatomy, etc)
As far as composition goes, it has good balance top-to-bottom, but the figure is right in the middle of the canvas. This makes the image a little static. The movement in the hair and the ribbon in the background help break this up, could you add more of those? The texture in the background is an awesome touch, I can tell it's on watercolor paper (and texture like that is what gives watercolor paper its charm)
The value is what really gives this piece its impact. I like how the piece is nearly monochromatic with just hints of color here and there. The subtleties in this piece create a low impact at first, but in noticing all the details it really allows the impact to slowly crawl into the viewer. I would say that some areas have much greater ranges of value than others, but I'm not sure if I mind that. It may create a bit of a style difference from, say, the dress to the hair, but I don't see it as distracting at all.
