Description 1 : Taurotholus horridus is a hefty abelisaur that resides in open plains and prairies. It is a scavenger that uses its incredible sense of smell to detect carrion from miles away, it os comparable to that of turkey vultures. Males have and impressive set of horns while females have one singular cone like horn on their head. It uses its large size to bully smaller scavengers away from a kill. It can reach up to 5 meters long and 3 tons. Over a couple millions of years it has evolved shorter legs and it is able to store food reserves in its tail in times of hardship.
2 : Petratholus palus is a burrowing carnivore that lives in swamps, marshes, rivers and islands. They only grow to around 3 meters long but they can often weigh 300-500 kg. It hunts in a rather ingenious way, it lays down in a clearing and pretends to be a pile of rocks or a log and while lying down it secretes a substance from glands behind its legs and cheek. The substance smells of a carcass and this draws in small carnivores which are then snapped up and eaten.
3 : Pantherasuchus velox is a small abelisaurid that is commonly found in most parts of the world. It only reaches around 2 meters long and 60 kg. Plains and jungle variants (fig. 1) are more commonly found while swamp and scrubland variants (fig. 2) are leas widespread. They hunt mainly small game but will often be seen hunting deer if the opportunity presents itself.
