Riku's plan derails at step 2: "Confront the troublemakers reasonably".
Chara/Asriel snap because, well, they both DIED because of this kind of mindset once before. And yes, Chara's Heartless is influencing them, but they're not wrong, they're overreacting.
Also, Andrew gets really mad for two reasons: first, he's a bully, and most bullies don't take well to having somebody stand up to them. Second, Chara/Asriel hit a raw nerve; Andrew secretly wants to be chosen to be Player Character, because he covets the power that he thinks he'll gain from it. Of course, Chara knows better from experience, and calls him out on it.
No fight scene, because Riku shuts it down.
