Hi! It appears that one of your stock images has been used in a manipulation and put up to print by RobinHedberg without permission. He's selling it here and outside DA. If this is false information, I'm sorry, but this is just a warning. For more information:

rounded bottoms - rain... flat bottoms - no rain... but that doesn't mean it won't sprinkle a little.

Yes It was in the middle of New South Wales it was in a town that was the highest point above sea level I think it was 1900 metres these clouds were weird they were so close to the ground and see how the bottom is cut off.I have some more photos of them havn't had time to put them up. Thanks for the comments. Fay

I love this.
I can't seem to get the color variations and intensity in the clouds. It comes out pretty flat!

I used a Canon 450D SLR for this photo. This photo has not been adjusted in any way. Have you tried different angles.Fay

chalutplease In reply to fa-stock [2009-04-24 13:12:39 +0000 UTC]

I've tried directly overhead and into the distance but I don't get the contrast that I see with my eye. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the water affecting how the camera sees it. Do you use a filter on your lens?

I'm new to this and only got my camera and software in January. I really know nothing about taking pictures so forgive me if I sound clueless!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fa-stock In reply to chalutplease [2009-04-25 11:25:37 +0000 UTC]

What camera do you have? What settings are you using? What time of day? I do have a filter but I haven't used it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chalutplease In reply to fa-stock [2009-04-25 12:26:33 +0000 UTC]

I've got the Canon XSi (aka EOS 450D) with an 18-55mm and 55-250mm.

I've varied the settings and the time of day and only had good luck around noon while shooting into the distance.

Oh it is the same camera as mine with the same lenses. Well there we go. I have a Canon point and shoot as well. sometimes it can take better photos. It can be trail and error sometimes I take heeps then pick the best out of the bunch. Fay

chalutplease In reply to fa-stock [2009-04-25 16:40:25 +0000 UTC]

I had a Canon point and shoot until January when it died. It was 7 yrs old but sometimes I think better than this. I was considering the A590IS for when I don't want to carry this one. What's your p&s?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fa-stock In reply to chalutplease [2009-04-26 07:57:16 +0000 UTC]

I have a A710is did you see my water lily I took that with the little camera.Yes the little camera can be handy. I drive a lot at work so I take the small camera in the car if I spot anything good. My daughter has the A590is its a 10 m/p she finds it good she also has a Canon 400D Fay

chalutplease In reply to fa-stock [2009-04-27 01:00:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for all the info. It looks like both cameras do well but yours has more zoom. That's the one thing I was disappointed with on mine. I think I'm going to have a second look at them. It would solve my macro problem too since the lenses I have for the XSi don't do that well and I miss it. I can't afford a macro lens for a while!
