He looks so sad, and yet completely at peace. Ya know, that's what was funny about John there at the last. He was a bunch of contradictions, ate health food but smoked heavily and all that ya know? You should consider finding and reading the book called The Last Days of John Lennon. And yes, I do mean the lot of you. It's a very awesome read about Lennon, and you can feel the joy in his heart erupting as he went back to recording. It was an awesome book, and I highly suggest you lot read it. It's by Frederick Seaman if you ever stop by a library one of these days. Anyway, onto more important matters. ^^"
The piece here is absolutely gorgeous. The emotions captured here, in my opinion, capture the contradictory essence of John Lennon. Hai. Beautiful job indeed. The detail is exquisite and I'm quite impressed that you used only graphite on this piece. I bet you had the hand cramps afterwards, ne? lol Words cannot totally describe what I am feeling and seeing in this image, so I'll b.s. it with the phrase: "amazingly amazing!" Hai. Awesome job.

yea, it's very hard to find a photograph of lennon that shows into his true nature. he was always putting on an act for everyone. one thing i've noticed however, is in some of the photos when you look into his eyes you see something else, something deeper than what the photograph itself shows

in the preview, his face appears to pop out like a sculpture. shading like that = talent. not to mention capturing johns unique look, and putting that on paper. were the words in the picture you drew this from?

That's absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of a few of the photos I saw at the Linda McCartney photograph exhibit. It's amazing that he had such a bright happy exterior, but when by himself or with friends, he was really a shy person that was completely different from the Beatle Image that we all see in the films and such. I love pictures like this one, it makes me feel like I'm able to see passed the Image, to who he truly was. Very lovely composition, and the lyrics you chose are perfect.
