Not my favorite of your works. This must've been a pretty early rendition. No texture? Thats not like you at all. Still, good color choice I think.

i did the same one only with the original colors(pink and green), but i fucked it up with all these glowing things around her, go check it out, i colored it myself and the added the glowy stuff after.

That is amazing. I'm really impressed with both the lines (Joe Mad, right?) but I really like the coloring job you did. I love all the drastic shadows and the highlights are in all the right places.

Love the colors... Joe Mad is one of my favorite artists (whatever happened to him, anyway? What happened to Dragonkind?). Anyway. It reminds me of past PSM covers (that Joe Mad did), and it's definitely just as good.

Mr. Mad Monk, great work. Your coloring is so angular yet the effect is so smooth. The colors are vibrant and the shading is superb... and you always seem to know where to get those great drawings... do people contact you and ask you to color them? And how long have you been doing this... I can hardly CG in PSP 8, let alone what you can do.

No, I just cruise the net and color what I like. I found a relatively nicely sized version of this picture (of the pencil lines) on comicartcommunity.com, maybe try and look there.
And I've been coloring for about... one and a half or two years. I've been improving the most (at least in my opinion) over the last half year. And I've never tried PSP8, but I did have PSP7 at one point - in fact, that's what I started out with. Man, it can't hold a candle to Photoshop.

Yeah, I'm going to beat myself with a rod for not getting Photoshop sooner. Upon which, I'll probably try your trade... though, I'd be doing it to my own drawings. The problem is, my hand drawn work is always very sketchy on the edges, while the lineart you use is done in precise and full lines. I don't want to waste any of your time, but could you visit my gallery and tell me if they are slightly CG-able? And if not, possibly some strategies to make them halfway decent for some color?

Well, anything is cgable if you really want to, but what I see in most of your work, is that you already render reverything out before you scan it. There's not much point in cg-ing anything if the artist already added shadows and highlights on his own. I'd say just try leaving your line-art more open if you want to color it.

I think it's a really powerful laxative they have circulating in the pipes here - but I'm not entirely sure.
