○ Personality://  Lorenzo is a charismatic anti-hero. He doesn’t make friends easily, but the very few that his does are close to him and he is willing to do whatever possible for those he cares about, even if it means hurting someone. He is a dare-devil and risk-taker, acting without thinking more often than not. His can be quite moody, though not always for a specific reason. He is rebellious and thumbs his nose at authority and can be quite sarcastic more often than not. He can be selfish, choosing what he wants over the wants of others, but this is not a common thing. He can have a vengeance streak when scorned but can be made to forgive under the right circumstances. He is a major flirt, both consciously and unconsciously, but it takes a special lady to capture his undivided attention and adoration. (Characteristics are subject to change as story progresses)
○ History://   Lorenzo was born to a small herd in Hali.  His dam and her best friend were both with foal at the same time, and gave birth together.  He was born alongside a filly, named Lia.  Being best friends, the two mares raised their foals together like siblings.  Lorenzo was very close to Lia, and they were practically inseparable.  Like his little sister, Lorenzo made it his role to make sure that nothing ever happened to her.  Which, sadly, was the cause of the worst year of his life.
In tradition in his herd, Hippocampus foals were allowed to venture the reef alone, without adults. Hippocampus from all kinds of herds were on the reef, and even equine from other regions would sometimes visit the shores of Hali for the change of scenery.   Not all herds were the same, or held the same beliefs. Every herd had different traditions, different lessons, and ultimately different morals. Some lacking them completely. In Lorenzo's herd, mares were treated as equals, but in others... they were more like objects. When he was just shy of three (3), Lorenzo found out this terrible fact.
Swimming in the shallows with his friend, they were approached by three young studs. They weren’t Hippocampus, but appeared to be Unicorns from Odalis. The three studs seemed friendly at first, and Lia being more trusting, encouraged Lorenzo to go with them. Nothing seemed unusual until they were quite a ways from the shore, and any watchful adults. Their characters seemed to change within moments. They were speaking inappropriately to Lia, touching her despite her discomfort and protests, and when she tried to flee back to the safety of the herd and the water, they began herding her. Angry, Lorenzo leaped to her defense and soon all four studs were battling it out. Lia screamed for them all to stop, and cried when Lorenzo was unable to hold his own. After all, three against one was terrible odds.
Hearing the screams, a few adult Unicorns rushed to the scene where they found a sobbing Hippocampus filly, a beaten Lorenzo, and three quiet and guilty looking Unicorn studs. Before Lia could speak, the studs began blurting accusations toward Lorenzo, saying he'd been making inappropriate advances on the filly and that they had jumped to her aid. Lia tried to explain the truth, but the adults wouldn't listen to her, after all, she was just a filly and to them, didn’t know what she was talking about. Instead, they dragged Lorenzo off to be punished.
If they had tried to seek out the adults from Lorenzo or Lia's herd, they would have learned better and left Lorenzo alone, but instead they took him to their own herd and he was sentenced to a life of servitude as punishment for trying to take advantage of a filly. Lorenzo's once fulfilling life was now one of imprisonment. He was taken to Odalis where he was forced to do manual labor every day, and he was often pushed around by other's in this unknown herd. The ones in charge of his punishment were as cruel as they were rough, and he was often battered, bruised and hungry by the end of every work day. Some even took the extra time to make life harder for him, biting and kicking at him when he wasn't moving fast enough for them.
Though he tried to remain optimistic and hopeful to one day escape, he was changed by the abuse, and perhaps the only thing keeping him sane was the possibly to take revenge on the three studs that had sentenced him to this torture. But also, he held immense anger towards authority. The fact that his life was ultimately in the hands of someone that didn't even know him, but had the power to do with him whatever they wanted.
Then, one night when the guard set to watch happened to fall asleep, Lorenzo took the opportunity to escape. After almost a full year of servitude, he was finally free. He ran for his home, but did not see out his family herd and decided to make it out on his own from now on.
