Poor Hidan doesn't understand why Shikamaru's not happy.

H: ...You don't like ice cream?
S: I said rations! Preservable rations! Not solid liquid that's going to melt away in half an hour!
H: But why would we need preserved food anyway?
S: Because not everyone's a fucking immortal who regularly food-poisons himself and still be able to run around like a hyperactive Kyuubi!
H: *stares at Shikamaru confusedly, not understanding what the fuss was all about*
S: *facepalm* How the hell did I fall for someone like you?
H: My awesomeness? *grin*
S: ...*groan*

I'm not good at drawing yaoi, yuri, or het, so this is about the best I can manage at the moment...Shikamaru's clothes killed me. No, scratch that, everything about drawing Shikamaru killed me.

The background drove me crazy and my finger feels like breaking into a million pieces from editing and coloring for over five hours, so I'm saying 'Fuck it.' to the trees. I might get back to it later someday. Someday. Maybe.

The backstory (yes I actually wrote a backstory for this) is that after Shikamaru dug Hidan up and decided that he liked him (and vice versa, or this pic wouldn't exist), Hidan didn't want to stay in a 'boring peace-loving' village like Konoha, so he was leaving. If Shikamaru didn't want to leave Konoha, then Hidan would be leaving him behind, because for the Jashinist, religion and freedom was more important than any sort of relationship.

So after thinking about it, weighing the sides and all, (and getting a massive headache in the process, it's not easy being too smart) Shikamaru decided 'to heck with it' and leave with him, choosing love over responsibility and loyalty to the village for once.

The two have been wandering all over the place ever since. As freelance ninja, they charge a lesser fee for their services to the civilians (despite Hidan grumbling that they didn't need the money and even if they did they could always just kill someone and loot the body, but Shikamaru insisted that he needed something 'normal' to do or he'd go nutters) so they've been taking on requests occasionally and sometimes bounty-hunting. For supplies they would go to the lesser villages where no one recognized them. Hidan is in charge of getting the food and Shikamaru handles the equipment. However, Hidan obviously isn't the best choice when it comes to shopping, as can be seen in the picture...

Shikamaru still wears his Genin clothes, while Hidan got himself a new cloak as he isn't Akatsuki anymore.
He has pockets now!

Hidan is eating a raspberry and blueberry flavored ice cream (the colors resembled splattered intestines to him when mixed, of which he got smacked by Shikamaru after telling him while they were eating), and the cone he got for Shikamaru is strawberry and chocolate.
