My first project for AP Studio Art is complete!!!!originally based off of a Nicole Kidman pic I saw but then I changed features and pose and skintone and hair and dress....so she's mine now ^_^
sketched with pencil on regular paper...scanned in and then used Photoshop 9.0....water doesn't look as amazing as I would like...but good enough for me......I hope the wings look ok....and I REALLY HOPE the dress is well liked....that was most definitely a labor of love (amidst cursing at the computer)...
anywhoo...on the title....I'm working on a storyline that involves faeries and such....and it has beautiful aspects and dark aspects...the word "Fey" is like that as well....it usually refers to something supernatural and otherworldly but it also means "marked by a foreboding of death and calamity" (Merriam-Webster's).....it applies well to my storyline...though you wouldn't be able to see the second meaning in this piece....
and yes...I know that upclose the details on the dress look like crap...but they look very nice from far away!
I ADORE THIS PIECE. STEAL IT AND I WILL DO SOMETHING TO YOU THAT IS EXTREMELY PAINFUL. TOO PAINFUL FOR ME TO DESCRIBE IN PUBLIC.

yes....yes it did take forever....and as usual I went like...half blind afterwards.....it was really a lot of squiggling with the pentool and then deleting....and then plenty of dodge tool...seriously....doesn't look nearly as cool up close...lol

Thank you! trust me..there is no need to be envious...I've realized that due to my obsession with photoshop I have to slowly relearn all of the other mediums.....it's a painful jolt to realize you can't undo your last two moves with a click of a mouse....

I like her....a lot.
She seems delicate but an edge of steel to her....maybe hiding a secret.
The wings are lovely...a little small for my taste....but you did an amazing job on them.
I can't get enough of her face...

yesh! Secret steel! Good! Not all faeries are cute and small and buffeted around by the wind (well not in my head anyways...)!
I would've made the wings larger but I wanted to cover up as little of the dress as possible...that dress was like MY BABY....lol...

Intersting to see a fey that large with wings. They wouldn't beable to handle the weight but they make her look even softer than she would without them. Like sliver lace.
Her face is so perfecy looking alive and touchable. I really like the way you do texurers(sp) Like with Tarma's tail, the hair in this image is the same. You can see the strands and the way it flows.

Wow...that is so amazing. It's so elegant and so dainty......it's as if I feel like I'm on the top of a misty mountain, ready to dive into the mist. It's so beautiful.

oh she's lovely! The fine filigree wings are a lovely lovely look. Her face isn't fragile, though. She's really interesting. I think the dress is great--the water is fine too, doesn't have to be detailed--it looks like smoke.

Thanks d-chan! I originally wanted to make the water and the sky more orange...like...liquid goldish....but somehow I went with blue....lol.....glad you think it looks ok!
