Description

velella velella, is a jellyfish called By-The-Wind-Sailor ... here, mimicked by a jellyfish mermaid. of course, like many of my works, this also comes with a story.

this story is science fiction, mimicking the movie "Matrix". the aliens here, are giant glowing jellyfish, gliding slowly over a dead reef, covered with the remains of a lost civilization(like Atlantis). they are crackling with pure energy, and have the power to transfer their consciousness and possess anything they touch, and bring it to life (like, role-play)

however, they soon find out they are recreating the dramas that unfolded in that distant past. many get lost in it, by identifying too much with it, and find they can't get back out. so, ultimately, it's a story about transcendence. but also a meditation and/or an esoteric tale for would-be yogis and buddhists, who have to practice the discipline of detachment.

the mermaid is Maya, whose power is to keep them trapped in illusion.
