Description
We all followed Rida into his tent and we all crowded around him in silence. He looked at us with a serious expression and said, "We finally have information regarding the demons".

In shock, we started to whisper among ourselves.

Rida cleared his throat and continued, "Apparently, some of the villagers found a cave that led to an underground laboratory a few days ago. So after we perform here, we will investigate the cave and the laboratory." Rida then looked at Lina and said, "Since you are new here Lina, you won't perform in the carnival tomorrow".

In indignation, she pouted, "But I want to perform though! I've heard about Laylania and its members and I've always wanted to join you guys! So I already know what I wanna do in the show!"

Rida rubbed his chin and said, "Then show us what you got".

Lina smiled and went into a stance with her feet shoulder length away from each other. She then lifted her hands and bright purple strings of light appeared and streaked across the open air. The strings of light then crackled with lightning which caused sparkles to spring into the air too.

"Woah," I said at the pretty lights.

I saw that Rida looked impressed too and he said, "Okay, you're in".

Lina smiled and clapped her hands, "Yay!"

Rida looked at Gadalka and asked, "Did you make her a costume?"

Gadalka nodded and replied, "I'll give it to her tomorrow morning".

Rida nodded, then looked at the rest of us and said, "Get plenty of rest tonight. We have a long few days ahead of us". He looked at Lina and asked me, "Kasai, is it okay if Lina shares your tent?"

"Yeah it's fine!" I replied with a smile at Lina.

"Then off you go!" Rida said as he pushed us out of his tent.

Once we were out of his tent, Dao said, "Well he was in a hurry for us to leave".

Cleite shrugged her shoulders and replied, "It's only natural, he needs to get some rest too for tomorrow".

Nodding my head I agreed, "That makes sense".

Clapping her hands together, Lina said, "So I guess we need to get some shut eye right?"

We all nodded.

"Night guys!" Cleite said as she walked away from us.

Sticking his tongue out, Dao said, "Don't let the bed bugs bite!"

Laughing I replied, "I'd burn em before they get to me!"

I then turned to Lina and said, "Okay my tent is this way!" I then led her to my orange and white stripped tent. I opened the flap and walked in and Lina followed after me. Copying what Cleite did for me when I first joined Laylania, I took some of my pillows and blankets and put them on the ground for Lina.

I snuggled into my bed and said to Lina, "Night night".

I heard her muffled reply as she covered herself with the blankets, "Night Kasai".

The night morning I woke up seeing Lina was was about to jump on top of me. Seeing that she was preparing to jump, I quickly rolled to the side so when she jumped she landed on the empty side of the bed.

She laughed and said, "Well I guess you're up now!"

Confused, I asked, "So why were you going to jump on me?"

"Well Rida warned me that you were a deep sleeper and had a bit of a problem waking up on time," she replied casually.

"So you were going to jump on me?" I asked.

She nodded and replied, "Yup. Cleite gave me that idea!"

I sighed and got up. Stretching I said, "Did you get your costume from Gadalka?"

Lina shook her head and replied, "Not yet. I was waiting until you wake up so I could go see her knowing you wouldn't oversleep".

"Well I'm up now, so you can go get your costume," I said while going over to one of my chests for my costume.

She gave me a quick salute and left the tent. Rummaging through the chest, I finally found my costume and changed into it. I then met up with Cleite and Dao at the breakfast line and Cleite greeted me, "So I see you're up Kasai".

Retorting back I said, "Yeah good thing I did else there would've been a Lina on me this morning".

Dao looked shocked and said, "You actually woke up before you were assaulted?"

Offhandedly, I replied, "Yes I did in fact".

Muttering to herself, Cleite said, "That's a first".

"Hey guys! Like my costume?" we heard Lina say. We turned around and saw that she was wearing a short dress that had some string shaped rips on the bottom. She then did a little spin for us.

Gushing, Cleite said, "Oh my God! It's so cute!"

Lina nodded her head and replied, "I know right! I was so surprised that it fit like a glove!"

Laughing Dao said, "Well that's our Gadalka for ya".

We then quickly got our breakfast and sat down at a table where Tanken joined us. After saying our thanks to the angels, we ate our breakfast happily.

After our stomachs were full of delicious food, Rida called us to meet under the big red tent and get ready for the show.

Nervous, Lina asked me, "Hey what's it like performing?"

I answered, "I'm not sure since this is the first time I'll be performing too".

"Then we're gonna have to do out best huh?" Lina replied.

"Yup".

Cleite glided over to us and reassured us by saying, "Don't worry guys, you'll do fine!"

I looked at her and asked, "You sure?"

Laughing Cleite replied, "Yup. Fighting demons is a lot harder than performing for people".

I muttered, "Sure, for you it is".

"Trust me, you'll get used to it!" She lowered her voice and said, "You are the last act while Lina is the second to last act".

Throwing up my hands in the air in exasperation, I asked, "Why am I the last act? Why not Rida like the last time?"

Winking at me she replied, "He said and I quote 'I want the last act to be the best one'. So he's saying that he's putting trust in you to finish this show with a bang!"

Dao then came up next to me and leaned his elbow on my shoulder, "You should be proud that Rida places so much trust in you! And knowing you, you'll definitely end the show with a bang!" After a pause he added, "In the good way of course!"

I smiled wearily and replied, "Thanks for the support guys".

"No problem, it's what family is for isn't it?" Dao said.

I laughed and with Lina we hugged Dao and Cleite. Rida grabbed all of our attention by clapping his hands together and said loudly, "Everyone get into your positions!"

Quickly everyone moved to their respective places while Lina and I stood where we were in confusion. Seeing our confusion, Cleite grabbed my arm and pulled me to the side of the tent near the swaying pole. I turned around and saw that Tanken and Dao had grabbed Lina and were leading her to her spot.

Once we were in position, the lights went out and the crowd shuffled into the tent and took their seats.

A single spotlight lit up at the center of the tent illuminating Rida to everyone. With a bow and a tip of his hat, he said loudly, "Welcome boys and girls! Young and old! To the magic that is . . . Laylania! I am Rida and I will be your host for this morning!"

The light then went off and the crowd murmured quietly. After a few seconds the lights came back on and I plastered a smile onto my face. I felt extremely nervous looking at the crowd who felt like they were staring at me.

Rida pointed at Dao and Tanken and said, "First we have the amazing duo Dao and Tanken who will throw knives and daggers at the targets!"

With that cue, Dao and Tanken started to throw daggers and knives at the targets with amazing accuracy. The crowd roared.

Rida then said, "Now watch as they throw knives into the stands without hitting anyone!"

Dao and Tanken then suddenly turned towards the audience and threw knives into the stand. The shocked gasps of the crowd were loud but no one screamed out in pain.

The lights around Dao and Tanken went out as they bowed and Rida took the floor again saying, Next we have graceful Cleite who will climb up the sway pole!"

With that, Cleite started to climb the sway pole until she got to the top. Once at the top, she suddenly jumped off and started to fly using her wings. The crowd gasped in shock as Cleite flew around their heads. She then landed and bowed to everyone.

Rida then took the spotlight again as he said, "Now Yan will juggle the swords! But what's more? He is blind! Don't believe me?" He held up two fingers and said, "Yan how many fingers am I holding up?"

Yan turned his head to the area Rida's voice came from and replied, "How the hell am I supposed to know?"

"What color is your costume?" Rida asked in return.

"Black and white according to what people say," Yan said impatiently.

Rida turned back to us and said with an exaggerated bow, "Without further ado, Yan!"

Yan threw the swords into the air and started to juggle them with precision. The crowd ooh-ed in awe as they watched him.

Once he was done, Rida caught the flaming torches that were thrown at him. Rida then said, "And now Yan will juggle these flaming torches!" He then tossed them to Yan who caught them easily and Yan quickly started to juggle them. The crowd roared in delight. His act quickly ended when the torches landed in the ground.

Rida then announced the next performance, "And now we have the glorious dancer Wudao!"

The spotlight aimed at Wudao and she immediately started to dance elegantly. The crowd was enraptured by her dancing. When she finished, the silent tent burst into cheering. Wudao bowed graciously and she was then in darkness as the light returned to Rida.

He said, "Next we have Nathair our snake charmer! Watch him as he communicates with the snakes!"

With that, Nathair looked at the snakes wrapped around his body and the snakes looked like they nodded their heads to whatever Nathair said. The snakes slithered off his body and started to slither on the ground making different shapes and designs. Once the snakes were done they once again slithered back to Nathair and returned to their positions.

Rida once again took the spotlight and said, "Next is the scary Kuma who is going to wrestle this lion into submission!"

Kuma then walked up to the lion and opened up the cage. The lion roared as it pounced at Kuma trying to knock him over. Kuma swiftly dodged to the side and then he tackled the lion. Kua forced the lion onto its back and he then sat on his the lion's exposed belly. The lion whimpered in submission. Grinning, Kuma took the lion by the scruff and threw it back into the cage. Kuma then bowed to us.

Next Rida gestured to Gadalka and announced, "And now, we have the mysterious Gadalka who can read minds and tell the future!"

Gadalka closed her eyes and waved her hands around the glass ball in front of her. When she finally opened her eyes she said, "A huge secret will be revealed in a the next few days".

"Feel like elaborating Gadalka?" Rida asked.

She shook her head and said, "But that would take away the surprise!"

Rida nodded his head in agreement and said, "True true. Can you read minds?"

Gadalka answered, "Yes".

"Can you read someone's mind for us now?"

She nodded her head and looked at the audience. She pointed to the man who was yelling at Rida a few days ago and said, "He's thinking about how we first came here without permission by the mayor. He still resents our being here".

Rida looked at the man and asked him, "Is that true?"

The man refused to meet Rida's eyes and said nothing.

"I will take that as a yes then, sir!" Rida replied to the man's silence. Gesturing to himself, he said loudly, "The next performance will be by me! Watch as I transform my cane into a sword!" He then showed us that his cane was one piece and then with a wave of his hand along the cane, the cane transformed into a long sword. He swung it around and then said, "Now I will turn it into an ax!" He then moved his hand along the sword and it turned into an ax. The crowd went wild and Rida bowed.

Loudly he then said, "Next is the electrifying Lina who can create beautiful strings!"

With that cue, Lina created strings of purple light. She spun around which made the strings swirl. With a snap of her fingers, the strings emitted purple sparks which made the crowd go 'aaaaaaaaaaah'. Finished her performance, Lina bowed with a big grin on her face.

Rida then pointed to me and said, "Last but not least we have the burning Kasai who will amaze us with her bright fire!

The spotlight turned to me. I felt my heart beat faster as I saw that the crowd was staring at me. I quickly glanced at Cleite and she gave me a wink. Then I looked at Dao and he gave me a thumbs up. I let out a deep breath and called upon my fire. The flame erupted from my hand and I willed it to turn into a roaring dragon. Carefully I made it fly around the tent and the crowd screamed in wonder. The fire dragon then breathed fire and burst into fireworks. If possible, the crowd screamed even louder. With a shy smile on my face, I bowed.

The spotlight went back to Rida and he closed the show saying, "And now we shall part ways until the magic of Laylania is needed!"

Then the lights went out and the tent went into darkness.
