It’s been a few weeks since you found the letter in your locker. So far, nothing has come up. You even took the stupid note to the police and they’ve found nothing. You’re back in school during final period, and all you want to do is go home. You’ve pretty much had the worst day possible; there was a surprise pop quiz in history; you were assigned as massive essay in English; math was just… math; you were pretty much at your wits end. Still, you knew it could’ve been worse, though you’d rather not say that out loud because you were afraid if you did, you’d end up jinxing yourself.
Still, you somehow manage to get out of final period alive. You’re at your locker when you see a note inside it. Quickly looking around to make sure no one would see, you take out the note and head to the girl’s bathroom, where you know you could read it and dispose of it without anyone noticing. You immediately made a run for one of the stalls, closing and locking the door, and take a seat on the toilet in there before opening and reading the note.

Dearest _________,
It feels refreshing that I was able to get this letter to you. You have no idea how anxious I’ve been feeling lately. I’ve decided that I can no longer simply admire you from afar; we must meet! And the best part; I know just the place.
My house.
I live on 1260, Sleepy Hallow Road. You should know this street anywhere, and you certainly can’t miss my house. Come here as soon as you can before midnight tonight. I’ll have tea ready.
PS: Don’t try calling the police, I’ve already taken care of them. Don’t tell anyone about this or take anyone with you, either; I hate surprise guests.

Same paper, same writing, same picture of you… yup: same stalker. Your neck tilts a bit to the side in curiosity; for one thing, he seems awfully polite for a stalker. It seemed to be a little too suspicious to be legit. Secondly, how could he have taken care of the police? You slip the note in your pocket and leave the bathroom. Heading outside, you take out your phone and dial 911.
“911, what is your emergency?” a woman answers from the other end.
“Hello, this is _________ _________,” you greet the woman.
“_________ _________?” the woman says, “It says here you called a few weeks ago concerning a stalker note.”
“Yes I did. I just got another note from the stalker and I need to get this to the station pronto!”
“Alright,” the woman says, “Can you tell us where you are?”
“Rivervew High School.”
“Alright, just wait there and a police vehicle will be there to pick you up shortly.”
“Thank you,” you say with a sigh of relief before hanging up. Finally, this stalker was going to get thrown in jail where he won’t bother you anymore. You sit down on the stairs of the school and listen to your IPod as you wait for the police cab to arrive. Once you see it pull up, you immediately stand up from your seat grabbing your things. The car parks in front of you and you get in the back seat eagerly.
“Is it okay if I listen to my IPod on the way?” you ask.
“That’s alright by me,” the policeman driving replies.
You buckle up into your seat and close the door. Within seconds, you were on your way. You close your eyes and relax in the back seat, listening to your favorite music. It wasn’t until you opened them again, however… that the policeman passed the police station.
“Um, sir?” you say, “We just passed the station.”
The man doesn’t respond.
“Sir, we just passed the police station.”
Still no response.
“Sir! You were supposed to-“
Then you remembered what the note said; “Don’t try calling the police, I’ve already taken care of them.” Your eyes grow wider than ever. That man was serious when he said that. This policeman was taking you to your stalker’s house! You try to open the doors, but you find that the doors couldn’t be opened from the inside. You were trapped. You should’ve seen this coming!
Soon you try to calm yourself down by taking in several deep breaths. This couldn’t be happening… yeah! This is all just some freaky nightmare. You’re still asleep in math class and having nightmares because of that horror movie you watched the other night. Soon your teacher would tap your shoulder or the bell would ring and you’d wake up in your desk. Sadly, by the time the police car stops and you see an unfamiliar house outside your window, the hope for that fades. You were screwed.
The policeman lets you out of the car and you step out. You don’t move until the police car leaves. You stare at the house: as fancy as it looked, it had sketchy written all over it. You should’ve been running down the sidewalk away from the house, but you had no idea how far away this was from your home. You should’ve been afraid – and you were – but at the same time you were fascinated. Who was this guy that he was able to somehow manipulate the police into giving you a ride to his house should you have called them? How much about you did he know? So many unanswered questions occurred in your head, and you knew that the only way to know the answers for sure would be to walk into the house, risking not coming out again.
You swallow your fear and step up to the front door. You put on your most serious face as you knock on the door.
“Come in~” a man’s voice says from inside. The door seems to suddenly open on its own. You step inside the dark house and the door slams shut behind you. Immediately after the door closes, the lights in the house come on. The place was well decorated in a gothic style with a few well-placed cobwebs, and you can smell the scent of tea in the air.
“I’m in here,” the man’s voice says again. You turn your head to find a door. Walking over and opening it, you manage to calm down. You were going to confront this man however you can. You were not going to let him have whatever way he wishes. You’ll step in, call him out, and head home. Finally, the door opens to reveal a small parlor. At the center was a circular table, and on the table was a tea set with two cups, a pot, a small bowl of sugar, and a creamer. You look up to see the man who was at the table; he had red hair with matching red ruby eyes, and was dressed in a gothic manner similar to the house. He smiles smugly at you, pleased that you came.
“Welcome, __________,” he greets you, “Call me Vlad.”
You simply glare at him. So this was your stalker.
“Please,” he makes a gesture with his hand beckoning you to walk forward, “Come sit down. The tea was just finished.”
You felt like running out of there right away, but you walk over and sit in the chair. This person had a lot of explaining to do and you wanted answers. Vlad pours you a cup of tea and sets it in front of you. “It’s my special blend. It’s a little different each time, so I can’t quite guarantee the taste.” Neither could you. For all you knew the tea could be drugged or poisoned. He poured a cup of the tea for himself, bringing it to his seat. He sits down across from you, taking the cup into his hand. “I’m very happy you’ve come to visit on such short notice, _________.”
“I didn’t come to visit, VLAD,” you reply angrily, “I don’t know how you got the police to take me here, but I am far from happy about this!”
“Oh don’t be like that,” Vlad took another sip of the tea, “I have my own ways with dealing with the police. A little talent I’ve always possessed.”
“What would that be?” You could imagine all kinds; bribery, blackmail…
“Mind control.”
You only emitted a small, “Huh??”
“Let’s just say I’m rather different compared to most people… now why don’t you drink that tea before it gets cold?”
“Do you really think I’m going to drink this stuff!? It’s probably got something that’ll knock me out or something!”
“… Let me put it this way; if the tea was really poisoned, do you really think that I’d be drinking some of it myself?”
You were about to speak, but what he said did make sense. “… Point taken.” You reluctantly pick up the teacup and bring it to your lips. You tilt the cup back, resulting in a little tea in your mouth. To your surprise, it actually tasted pretty good. You set the cup back down on its plate.
Vlad had a wide smile on his face. “Now was that so hard?”
“I suppose not…”
“There; we’re getting along already!”
“Who said we were getting along, creep?”
“Now now, there’s no reason to get rash-“
“I’d say this is a perfectly good reason to be rash, mister!”
“What makes you say that?” Vlad sounded like he was mocking you.
“HELLO!? You’ve been stalking me for I don’t know how long. You practically kidnapped me for some tea, and you’re acting like nothing’s wrong! Are you HIGH?” You got up from your seat, “Newsflash, buddy! You don’t kidnap a girl into liking you! I don’t care what you have on me! You can blackmail me for all I care, and I know that the whole “Mind Control” thing is bullshit! I would never love you in a hundred years! Now if you excuse me,” you start to walk away, “I have t…” you try to finish the sentence, but it felt like all of the air in your lungs was suddenly sucked out. You couldn’t breathe.
“Funny thing, _________,” Vlad said, getting out of his seat, “I was telling the truth when I said the tea wasn’t poisoned…”
You turn back to him, but feel your legs starting to give way under you like they were made of jelly.
“What I didn’t mention was that the inside of the cup you drank the tea out of was coated with my home-made amnesiac. It’s made from nightshade, poppy pollen, water, and some vanilla to mask the flavor, just to name a few ingrediants. The first side effect was sudden breathlessness, the second being the loss of control of your muscles… save for the ones controlling your internal organs.” As he speaks, you feel your body collapse to the floor, “Within the following minute, you’ll be unconscious for a few hours, and when you wake you’ll lose all memory… PERMANENTLY. It’ll be a miracle if you still remember your own name afterwards!”
Already your vision was starting to blur. Your mind was starting to get mixed up. What was going on that you couldn’t move? You try to move your hand, but it was frozen. You see Vlad looming over you. You were a butterfly that had fallen in a spider’s web, and Vlad was the spider.
“I’m almost sorry that you won’t remember your family and friends, but don’t worry. I promise to take good care of them… sweet dreams my sweetheart.”
Finally, you felt everything fade away from you and you lose yourself in darkness.
