A shadow shifted among the wood, expression pensive as he approached the pale stranger. It was rare for visitors to stumble upon their lands, be it by mistake or intentionally. Although, judging by the expectant look on the female's face, Loki assumed it was the latter. His diplomats had already informed him of her roots. She was a Highvallian; a snow-born hare from the far west. Loki had heard brief tellings of the mountain pack, mostly whispers from Havir's remaining descendants. King Rodwen's eagerness to forge an alliance between the former pack and his own was no secret.

"You must be Loki," the foreigner greeted, muzzle dipping respectfully. "My name is Taibhse, I am a envoy to Highking Rodwen."

"A pleasure," The Astir returned, eyeing the female inquisitively, "What can I do for you?"

"I have travelled over great distances to speak with you. Our pack has dwelled in solitude for many generations, and although our lifeblood runs strong, we believe it's high time our alliances were extended." Loki's dark ears pricked in interest.

"On behalf of Highvalley, I propose a contract; an opportunity."

The dark male regarded the Highvallian with a narrowed gaze. After a moment of silence, his head tipped subtly, "What do you suggest?"

"A gathering of families. When the earth turns and the land thaws. Allow our packs to integrate; provide the foundations for a fruitful union between two great forces."

Loki considered the she-wolf's words carefully, turning them over in his mind. This was a mighty offer, certainly not a decision to be made lightly. "I will consort with my council," he announced, "We will consider your proposition and you will receive your answer on the morn."

The council has been summoned; rumours of an alliance continue to grow....
