"So she can be my bride." The sentence rang through your mind like someone ringing a bell at Christmas time. Feliciano stood back up and twirled you around, forcing you to fall into him. He of course caught you and looked at you, your face upside down. Anger rose into you, setting your cheeks on fire. "Wait a second!" You ripped yourself out from Feliciano's arms and turned to face the cat and the dog. "What is going on!? First, you turn into a godforsaken cat, drag me into a portal, and then ask me to be your wife!?" You then turn to Arthur, his face still flushed. "And you!" You screamed at him. "You're a dog!? When did this happen and why didn't you tell me?" Arthur jumped back, scared by your sudden snappiness. "What is going on!?" You yelled louder than anything else you had said today.
Feliciano even looked a bit surprised. "I'm very sorry for not explaining earlier, but if I did, you would have never gotten here. Allow me to explain." He took a step closer to you. It was very intimidating. "Well, me and your friend over there-" He pointed a razor claw at Arthur. "Were born with the ability to transform in to animals." You gave Arthur a horrible look. "So this world that we are in is our birth world. We were born here, but it is split into two. As you can see, we don't get along very well." He glanced at Arthur, Arthur returning the gaze with equal hatred. "We are in a serious war era right now. This is why I have taken you to our world. I need a maiden so I can marry her and she will help me rule over our land. Then we may take over the land and outcast all of these useless dogs." He pulled you in closer, your face barely inches away from his. This made you suck in all of your breath in surprise.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I can do that…" You replied honestly. Feliciano stepped a bit closer. "Why?" He breathed. You found it hard to concentrate with his illusional eyes staring right into yours. "Why?" You repeated. "Because this is just ridiculous!" You shouted into his face. Instead of flinching, he smiled at you. "We'll see about that." And he stepped away from you, smiling a demonic smile. "Still…" Your eyes began to tear up. "Arthur? Why didn't you ever tell me this?" Tears began to plunge down your rosy cheeks, hurt by the secret your friend had been keeping from you your whole life. "I'm sorry, _____, but I couldn't say anything. If I did, I would be in deep trouble…" He shuffled his feet on the ground, upturning the dry loose dirt. You just slunk down onto your knees and cried out. Tears leaked out from behind your hands and dripped onto the hard ground. "_____! It's alright. Please get yourself together. We need to head towards the castle at once." Feliciano pushed Arthur aside and looked down at you. You then nodded and wiped your face on your sleeve. "Yes, I'm sorry. I-I just feel a little overwhelmed right now." You stood back up slowly, with the help of Feliciano's soft hand.
After you three had done quite a bit of walking, you came across a beautiful pond. The pond was sparkling and was being fed by a quiet flowing stream. "I suppose we should rest here." Feliciano broke off their course and began to trod over to the edge of the big pond. He then knelt down and started to drink the water out of the pond. You jumped as Arthur slipped his hand into yours. You whipped your head around to face him, and he put his finger on his lips. He then took off running; dragging you behind, your feet began to fling themselves across the grassy plains. You looked behind yourself just as Feliciano turned his head and snarled at Arthur. He began sprinting after you. Arthur had realized this also and tried to run faster. Pebbles rained behind you as you violently tried to keep up. "Where are we going?!" You screamed at Arthur. He flattened his dark ears onto his head. "We are getting away from Feliciano! Do you even know what he might make you do? You would never get to go back home and I would be killed!" He yelled in between breaths. Your heart almost stopped as he mentioned his death. "B-but where are we even going?" You breathed. Arthur glanced behind you. Feliciano was barely an inch away. "Stop running right now!" Feliciano screeched as he took a dive at your hand. Arthur took a huge swerve to avoid him, almost sending you flailing onto the ground. Feliciano cursed as he stumbled and almost lost his footing.
Feliciano then let out an angry screech and took another lunge for your hand. This time, he managed to yank you out of Arthur's grasp. This made you scream out in pain. You had been going so fast, it felt like your arm was about to be pulled off. "Kyah!" Arthur stopped dead as he heard you scream and felt you ripped from his grasp. Feliciano pushed you behind him so Arthur couldn't reach you. "Very sorry." He muttered to you. "Ow, ow, ow…" You rubbed your arm slowly. "_____! Quickly, come over here!" His emerald green eyes bore into you with a desperate look. You hesitated when Feliciano spoke before you could make a move. "Bella, if you go with Arthur, you will never get the end of it." At that, you dashed past Feliciano and hid yourself behind Arthur, careful not to touch his black tail. Feliciano scowled. "It doesn't matter. This will just make it worse for Arthur. I will have you no matter where you are or who is trying to conceal you." He then smiled as his elaborate brain started to form a plan for snatching you to his own kingdom.
Arthur took one last look at Feliciano, then grabbed your hand again and started running. Only after a few meters, he stopped. "We are now safely inside our territory." He explained as he saw your confused face. You nodded and looked down at the ground. "Oh no…" Arthur muttered. "What?" You looked around in case Feliciano had returned, but instead you only saw waving grass and slightly more trees. "Well, you won't be able to enter our kingdom… Humans aren't allowed." He glanced at you worriedly. Your heart started to thump a bit harder than it was supposed to. "W-well, there is one way…" He said hesitantly. You could see blush creeping onto his face as he looked away. He sort of looked like a guilty puppy. You couldn't help but giggle a bit. "What is it?" You inquired.
"Well, since I am pretty skilled with magic, I could give you dog characteristics like me…" He looked into your (e/c) eyes then looked back at the ground again. "But you would have to be disguised as my…" You couldn't hear the last word because he had said it so quietly. "What?" He took a deep breath and told you what he had said, but louder. "You would have to be my girlfriend… Otherwise they wouldn't accept a random girl." His face lit up into a brighter red color. Your face flushed a bit, but you managed to not blush as hard as him. "W-well, if that is what we must do, then s-sure." You stuttered. "I mean, it would only be until we found a way to get back home, then I could tell them you died or something." He rubbed the back of his head. "Okay, let's cut the awkwardness and just get it over with!" You spoke up because this was leading you to nowhere. "Yes!"Arthur's blush decreased a bit.
Arthur motioned for you to come over, and you did. He then began chanting words that you couldn't understand. You gasped as a strong white light enveloped you. For a second, you couldn't feel your body. Then, you felt really weird. You could feel a weight on your head and you could feel that a tail had indeed latched itself onto you. You felt like a completely new being. Soon, the light vanished, leaving you standing in front of Arthur. "D-did it work?" You asked. Of course you knew it worked, you just wanted to make sure that it didn't turn out horribly. Arthur's face was complete shock. His jaw was hanging and his green eyes were wide. All he could manage was a nod. "Is it really that bad?" You walked over to the stream that had crossed through the pond earlier. Your hand went to your mouth as you saw your reflection. Atop your head, was a pair of ears. Large drooping fluffy white ones. Your new tail was shorter than Arthur's and was white and looked like huge sweep of long hair. Your fingernails had grown sharper, and your tongue could feel the hard, sharp, canine teeth inside your mouth. You gave your tail a few wags, testing to see if it was real. You did the same thing with your ears. Arthur realized how he was staring, so he closed his mouth and averted his eyes. "You look, pretty stunning…" He admitted. "The cool thing is that you're a shi-tzu. Those are pretty rare breeds around here." You tilted your head. "Really? What breed are you?" You continued to examine yourself. "Yes, and I am just a black lab. Those are pretty common, but my real mother always said that my green eyes were really uncommon." He said shyly. You gazed into his beautiful green eyes. They are really uncommon. Uncommonly beautiful. You thought to yourself.
"It's true. Your mother sounds like a nice person." You stepped away from the stream so you could hear a bit better. Not that you couldn't hear, no, your ears had become a lot more sensitive, same with your nose. You just wanted to look closer at Arthur's eyes. "Yeah, I wish you could meet her. She died when I was just a puppy." The corners of your mouth turned down. "I'm sorry." You hugged your friend sadly. Then you started to laugh a bit. "What?" He asked playfully. "Well, you said puppy!" You burst out. "Ha, well, yeah. That is part of the dialect that we use." He explained. "Ah. So I will have to use it too then!" Your eyes sparkled. He laughed with you. "Yep! Now, let's get going." He took your hand and began to lead you to his kingdom.
