Description Another one inspired by the dear

This is the first time I've attempted to design Strelitzia the Vampire's castle, I want it with a Gaudi look, so I played around with the Sagrada Familia design as well as the Pedrera which was down the street from where Alex lived when we met. It's only in the back but I'll be having to paint the full castle soon. ^.^; I worked on this painting on and off for 4 days, longest I've painted in a while. I'm happy with how it came out.

For a start, I'd like to say how gorgeous the colours are when they're this rich. Lovely and eye-popping and just a little bit trippy. I would adore to give this five stars on everything, it's just that good, but it would feel like depriving you of the chance to make it six stars. I don't know, I'm going to end up blithering during this.
The things I love in this image... sounds weird, but it's the little shine on the velvet of his jacket. It's a detail that would take me a good hour to think of; realism that has to be respected.
You put so many darling little details into almost every aspect of your work, but it's the larger sections that I feel have been maybe a bit overlooked. This is specifically her dress a little below the bodice; it's a little bit too smooth and glossy, even for this surreal style. The same goes for the inside of his cape; it just doesn't feel shaded enough. The final thing that bugs me is floor beneath them seems a little flat and like they're hovering. No, actually, I tell a lie, the final thing I'd like to point out is the horizon line is leaning down towards the lighthouse. Then again, the Earth is curved, I'll give you that one actually (told you I'd blither).
But the thing I love most about this image (and your style in general come to think of it) is the smoky but sharp edges. By this I don't mean the smokiness of the clouds, but the left side of the edge of her dress (I know, I said the dress needed some work, but the hem on the left is great) you've gotten the look of it being filmy and light just brilliantly.

Hehe no, it was a very kind and thoughtful critique, I'm glad you chose that painting too because it's the only one I really worked hard on this year, so it's very helpful. When I had it printed the colors came back horrible in some spots, so time to recalibrate the tablet too sad. When I can paint more, I want to work more with models instead of my imagination, I think that will help me a lot too. Pretty excited about painting this year
