It's finished! This is my first collab, and it turned out perfectly! I couldn't have asked for a better collab partner. The comic is based off one of my short stories called Ashen. You never expect that extra supernatural twist. Things escalated pretty quickly, right?. I'm so thrilled with how everything turned out


drew all the art for the comic. Go check out the rest of her art and give her a watch! She deserves it. She put a lot of hard work into the comic

The story is based off Celtic lore and Sylvan tree spirits.  Sylvans select a tree as their sanctuary and reside within them. Approaching their trees can anger them and be extremely fatal. In Celtic lore, people were afraid to cut down Ash trees even when wood was scarce. There were many accidents where homes would spontaneously catch flame overnight; the fires are tied back to harming ash trees. Sylvans can reside any tree which could explain a lot of incidents

Like any Sylvan, Sven protected his sacred tree even if it meant hurting his friend. You can tell how aggressive and powerful tree spirits can be

Yeah, she realizes even though she doesn't understand completely. Sven's eyes were a dead giveaway too her. The creature she saw has the same unnatural green eyes; Sven is also really tall and lanky

Well, I guess the comic version isn't as clear. I've been told that it's confusing until they read the description

Wow! Pretty awesome story and very well illustrated as well. It really works together - great collab!
Only thing I'd recommend is using a different more natural looking font for the lettering - blambot.com has a lot of free fonts (especially for independent and non-commercial comic projects). Maybe you can find something there. In any case: Keep up the great work!

I really want to write a sequel, but I'm not sure if it'd be in comic form. It took some time to get the pages designed and everything. I'll mention it to my friend depending if enough people seem interested

Grady had no idea what he was getting into! Emily knows about Sven...not that she possibly understands it! She used to have a bit of a girl crush on him; she's giggling under those blankets when he sends her that picture

Im so conflicted at the end I want to hate him but...he was protecting his tree...but.....how would Grady know that was a sacred tree he broke?? ahhaoisfhoensf

I think that's Sven's fault. He let them near his tree in the first place; I know he's conflicted. Sven wants to be able to fit in, so if he started acting weird about his tree, his friends might think he's weird. Of course, being not human his perception of acting weird comes with being irrationally shunned. It's why he acts so laid back and such D:
