Description Sisters are doing it for themselves. Especially when they're weapon-wielding warrior-women. And yes, Etain could probably knock Xena straight to Hades. Say what you like, but I loved this movie. It was a bit graphic like Braveheart, but a solid story and good characters. Definitely worth a watch.

I have to say, as a stickler for historical accuracy (and realism), I had to walk out halfway through. The movie was just awful.

Still, your work is great!

Love it!

Yeah, I reckon Centurion is well worth a re-run. Also, is it just me or does Quintus look a bit like Poseidon in Percy Jackson?

Yeah, he does. I like the Percy Jackson books a lot better than the movie though. Annabeth in that was too much like that daughter of Ares they cut from the film, and Hades was a douche. Ralph Fiennes did an AWESOME Hades in Clash of the Titans.

The books are way better than the movies. There's a lot more content and back story, and the jokes are funnier.

I think they kind of combined Clarisse and Annabeth in the movie, which really screwed things up. I didn't like the film Annabeth.

Hades was a douche, but he was a very well-dressed douche. And you gotta admit, Steve Coogan is pretty damn funny.

All hail Ralph Fiennes!! The man is a GENIUS!!

Me too - she didn't seem to be much like the book Annabeth at all. And Posideon and Zeus were kinda meh, but they didn't get much screentime to really setup their characters. I did like Chiron and Grover though, and Percy and Luke were pretty good. Ha ha. Yeah, Hades was funny in the movie, I'll give him that.

The man is most definitely a genius.

Poseidon and Zeus were, despite their limited screen time, better I thought than their book selves. Especially Zeus. I mean, he was so selfish in the book but in the movie he seemed a lot nicer.

I thought Chiron, Grover and Luke were pretty good too! But I think they should have played up Percy's lack of proper training more, like he was in the book. In the movie, it seemed like Percy's fighting ability just appeared out of nowhere.

Poseidon did seem a bit more serious in the movie versus the book he was more relaxed and easygoing, although I did like the bit at the end between him and Percy. I would've thought the movie at least made reference to the fact that they have battle reflexes like the book does (Chiron might have, I can't remember). At least they do show Percy training and goofing up so it's not like he's all the sudden perfect. Ah well. If you haven't read The Lost Hero, you've got to! The Red Pyramid wasn't bat either.

Yes, I liked the little heart-to-heart they had. It seemed appropriate. I think Poseidon was better serious.

Battle reflexes: gods or demigods? Remember when Grover was showing Percy for the first time, he said that Percy's ADHD was actually his natural battle reflexes (dyslexia = brain tuned to Ancient Greek).

Yeah, I suppose he wasn't immediately. But when he was beaten by Annabeth and he stuck his hand in the river and healed, he was suddenly able to take her down and all the sons of Ares that came at him. It just seemed like they'd gone 'Okay, he's a weakling at the moment. Ta da, now he can kick ass! Yay!'.

I haven't read The Red Pyramid yet but I've got The Lost Hero. Coach Hedge was absolutely HILARIOUS!!

Gotta admire someone who loves his job so much. The dynamic between Greeks and Romans is interesting too - similar but not exactly the same. Can't wait for the next one!

You're so into Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I might just have to make a wallpaper of it for ya. They've already done some good ones though. Maybe I'll try something with The Lost Hero...
