Description This image was commissioned by CaptainBipto  and is the engine room of the Buran class starship U.S.S. Vanguard:
"The U.S.S. Vanguard's mission profile is to act as the centre of a small deep space exploration fleet.  Much of its interior is devoted to fleet operations and diplomatic presence, leaving very little room for a traditional engineering section.  This is further crowded by the designers deciding that a redundant warp drive system should be implemented, much to the chagrin of the chief engineer."

Other Vanguard interiors: Bridge   Sickbay   Conference Room

Modelled and rendered with Blender . Computer display textures made with Inkscape .

Based on and inspired by original designs from:
-Star Trek (ViacomCBS)

-Star Trek Online (Cryptic)

I know right. If I recall correctly I read one time it was likely a case of the writers not knowing about that part of the ship's design. Likewise, the Defiant has landing struts shown on its MSD which, if memory serves, could have been used in at least one episode where it would have really helped to be able to land the ship had they known about it.

Thank you very much!
Blender took some getting used to and I still don't know enough to get through a project without having to storm off to Google for some much needed help, haha. But I'm getting there. I don't use CAD plugins but I really should have a look at something like that. I'm sure it will make the work a lot easier. (I hate Blender's measuring tool!) For the hard surface modelling I usually don't subdivide, I use bevels instead. But for things like the chairs and couches I do subdivide the surfaces and it's a very handy modifier!

Thanks! I struggled a little with getting the core materials right. Having anything to do with glass is always a challenge for me in Eevee but I'm glad it turned out well.

It was a pleasure, as always. Haha, you'd be surprised how much such such a rough drawing helps to get the idea across! Always helps.
