Another part of Kiburi (Strange lion) and Patches`s AU story for awesome PatchestheCalico

Time passed and, thanks to Patches`s care, Kiburi became healthy again. His burned paws healed and now he could walk without pain. Lion started to spend more time with Patches outside of their cave. While he was still wounded Kiburi didn`t have any other option but just trust his savior and have conversations with him. He learnt more about Patches`s past and also gradually felt safe enough to tell him his own story. Patches was a careful listener and gentle friend, so that was only a matter of time that Kiburi started to grow more affectionate towards Patches. Patches wasn`t showing obvious signs but Kiburi could feel something between them in the air, so he decided to finally clear things out and make a hint.
Wast Outlands was pretty lifeless so there was almost nothing that could disturb their new life with its presence. When Kiburi`s paws finally healed enough, he and Patches started to take a walk through endless Outlands canyons and gorges, sometimes even playfully pushing each other and laughing while walking. At one of these playful fights Kiburi decided to finally make a move in their relationship since no one of them could make a first step. He pushed Patches so that he fell on his back and pinned him to the ground. At first Patches laughed and tried to playfully push back but this time Kiburi didn`t step away. Patches`s face changed from laughing to surprised, he looked in the lion`s eyes with a silent question and almost undisguised awe. Kiburi smiled slyly at the puzzled cougar and leaned closer to Patches`s face to make things finally clear...
