Bio:

At a very young age, Aella was entered into the Spectra royal military academy and trained in officership. In her early years she excelled at her courses effortlessly and quickly advanced to more specialized training. She was gifted at battlefield tactics, fencing, magic, and management, but where her interests lay were in espionage. At 18 she began her training and conditioning and emerged three years later unrecognizable from the person she was before. Surpassing all expectations for her, she was quickly granted a position in the inquisition’s home offices and rose to the rank of Captain. After an astonishingly successful early career, she expected to be continually rising to greater positions with each secret victory earned for the Great King Aldric III, but instead found herself stagnate and idle, with few enemies to seek out, and even fewer tasks of importance to tackle. Despite her loyalty to the crown, she felt a rush of excitement when the king was slain simply for the chance to put her skills to use.

Personality:

Aella is fearless and sometimes reckless. Her training was designed to make her this way, but the truth is she’d been ahead of the game on this years before the royal army was a shadow of a thought. She’s very seductive and playful, and loves to tease. To her, life is a game and everybody is a player. She plays by her own set of rules and tries to manipulate people into playing her game, though she won’t ever say this. She almost never speaks her mind and will never be specific about what she really wants. Talking in riddles is one way to phrase it, but it’s not quite so simple. Riddles are obvious and easy to discern. What fun is it if you know you’re being given a riddle? To more straight forward people, this can be quite irritating. To make matters worse, she’s very expressive, and her emotions are quite easily conveyed, but they rarely display her true emotions. She’s prone to using elaborate and flourishing vocabulary, though she will speak simply as well so people can at least understand what she’s saying. Due to her naturally aggressive nature, she can come off a bit domineering, but she doesn’t like submission. She’s all about having fun and it’s no fun if it isn’t a challenge. She wants her opponents to fight and struggle for dominance over her before coming out on top. But a direct confrontation is equally as unappealing to her. Most importantly, Aella comes off not having a moral compass. She appears cold, ruthless and sadistic, which may all very well be true, but that isn’t to say she is without honorable qualities as well. She is loyal and fair, and given the opportunity, also quite friendly.

Combat:

Melee-

Aella favors a dual wielded fighting style. That is to say, rapier and main gauche/parrying dagger/buckler. She’s a very quick and agile fencer who’s gifted in numerous different fighting styles. She’s also practiced with sabres, longswords, cutlasses, scimitars, kilijs, broadswords and so on. She couples this with her incredible flexibility to be extremely illusive and hard to hit in combat. She favors parrying stances above all else, and loves to bait and counter attacks.

(when I say flexibility, i’m talking about bending in ways you didn’t know the body could.)

Magic-

Aella can warp and alter the shape and tempurature of things she touches. She mainly does this with her blades, altering them so she can switch her fighting styles without having to carry around a bunch of different weapons. She can do this quickly and thoughtlessly on simple objects and materials. Metals and stones are easiest for her, while more chemically complex materials are harder. Organic material would be among the hardest to manipulate, and at best, she can just deconstruct it. When it comes to destroying organics, it needs to either be done through prolonged physical contact, or a charged up single touch, and so she rarely does this during combat. (Organics include wood)

In Practice-

Aella blends her acrobatics with melee and magic seamlessly. Her off hand weapon can change rapidly between parrying dagger to mail breaker to buckler to suit her needs. If given a chance, she can (but won’t necessarily always) alter her sword by running her fingers along it’s blade. She’s ruthless once a fight begins. Her playfulness remains, but she doesn’t give her opponents opportunities to fight. It’s all about pressuring her opponent. Also, don’t expect surrender to grant you reprieve. She’s cut down people who’ve given up before, and even some who’ve refused to fight (depends on her orders). In short, no mercy.

Notes:

-Aella is very catlike in her movements.

-she’s extremely cunning

-she’s an expert at reading people and getting them to reveal themselves to her (in more ways than one)

-Sly grins might creep across her face when she gets what she wants or gets excited about something

-she loves danger

-sometimes she gets a high off other people’s misfortune

-if possible, she lets other people do her dirty work for her (through manipulation) but will also enjoy taking matters into her own hands

-She may sometimes let her emotions weigh in on her decision making
