Description Hanna followed one of her grandmothers many maids down the long corridor."well miss, here it it.I hope you are pleased.Your grandmother wishes you stay in your room until supper,8:00 sharp.Good day to you ma'am " The obedient maid quickly remarked and shut the dark,cherry-wood door.

"Wait!'Hanna scoffed as the door slammed in her face. How could Grandmother ask her to keep to  her room? She hadn't said a word to the women since she arrived to her Grandmother's old southern plantation home. She sighed and turned around to see an enormous cast iron bed,the quilt sitting on it was beautiful.Yellow, blue, green, purple, Surrounded a single rose set in the very middle of the quilt. She almost didn't want to touch it for fear of soiling the masterpiece.Next to the bed,on either side were two cherry-wood side-tables,one with a small, wilted rose in a vase, and the other with a,Radio! No! The appalled teen quickly trotted over and yanked the cord from the wall. She hadn't heard a single note of music since her mother died in that dreadful,mugging...Hanna shivered just thinking about it.

After her mother had....passed.Hanna's father grew quiet, reserved only to his work and the local bar.It wasn't really a surprise, they had never really been close, and to add to that she had her mothers facial structure, her ice blue eyes, and her dark, chestnut hair that flowed down to the middle of her back.Soon after her mothers passing,The young teen began to take care of herself entirely, taking money from her college fund to buy the necessities. It wasn't long before her Grandmothers request (more like demand) came,The elderly women wished for her granddaughter to move from her childhood home in Missiori to Texas,Waxahachie Texas no less!,she had never heard of such a place. The journey took around a week, with her grandmothers refusal to use planes or cars,or even a passenger train.'Death traps!'so she called them with her thick southern accent,or so her mother used to tell her.Even with switching the horses for the carriage consistently.

A knock at the door quickly brought her out of her dream like state.Hanna had barely gotten to the door before it was swung open by a annoyed looking butler. She looked back at the grandfather clock by the one window in her small room.8:20?'uh oh...'she thought.

"Madam, your late.Your Mrs.Evencline wishes to see you at once."Hanna quickly jumped up and hurried to her grandmother.

'The nerve! That women! No wonder mother never let me meet her...'the aroused teenager wondered.she once again looked over at the old grandfather clock,11:17pm.She huffed and began to get ready for bed.

'I watched you leave that's how I know you're gone
But this heart of mine keeps telling me I'm wrong
I see your face before me every night In this
haunted house when I turn off the light'

Hanna strained to listen,it was a song her mother consistently put on the old jukebox they had.she tasted salty tears.

'Sometimes I hear you walk across the floor And my
arms reach out to hold you like before
I live for all the things we used to do In this haunted house
I filled with love for you'

she realized it wasn't the original singer,it was her mothers unmistakeable voice softly mixing with the spring locusts.

"Hanna....Hanna darling....It's going to be alright."Her mothers voice rang through the room. The surprised teen felt like a child once more, being reassured by her mother. She then saw her mothers figure in front of her, wearing a worried expression.

"Mother?"Squeaked Hanna, her mother simply smiled and vanished into springs nighttime breeze.
