^.^ Oh what a beautiful and mysterious picture. I love the lighting and you have great anatomy skills.
May I just suggest a few little picky things? The back left leg I accidently mistaked for the front leg till I squinted at it. Maybe just make the color contrast a tiny bit more distinct. Like the back legs just slightly lighter than the front because they are closer to the lightning and it would make the picture "pop" a bit more.
Also, this is totally personal preferance but I remember you did another character design of your avatar in that same fashion, so to speak. Where that character was walking out of the background box. I think it would be totally cool if this character was jumping out of the background box. It would just make the picture "jump off the page" in a way.
Otherwise, I really loved it. And the wings are amazing. They can be so hard to do. Keep up the good work.

Maybe the jump out of the box would have looked better if the horse was at more of an angle/ mid-air jump. Where the front feet where up higher and the back was just leaving the ground.
But the picture is still really cool.

I totally love that whole transpartent thing you have going on. You should do that more often indeed.
This is a really good picture, I love the legs a lot too. They always seem to trouble me, even with refs, but you totally nailed them. And the face is just amazing. I love the eye hte most, how it pops out in all of the darkness.
