Thank you. I used to teach photography and that was a photo I took to illustrate the principal of dominance. The boat COULD be called the subject, but in fact it was mostly just there for scale and to add a point of interest for those who just can't be bothered with photos of sunrises/sunsets; the sunrise, along with the rest of the background, was much more dominant. I also used it to illustrate how Kodak Gold film leans hard toward blue and how you can use that property and make it work for you.

Well, thank you for the comment. Much of the effect this photo has is just due to it being slightly misty that day, the quality this gave the light, and the choice of film and developer. Every film is different and it reacts to different developers in different ways. I think the world lost a lot of different means of expression when it went to digital cameras.
