Description My baby and your baby sat side by side tomorrow.
Your baby said to my baby, "If you leave i will follow."
My baby replied, with an air of pure disdain -
your baby asked if mine liked to cause it pain.

My baby set off that very night, by horse.
Your baby was smarter, and stole the motorcar, of course.
My baby reached Dallas at a very fast pace -
your baby was faster, and thus won the race.

My baby sat under the twisted oak tree,
cut out its heart still beating, and was set free.
Your baby ate the heart with strawberry jam -
my baby cried, and, heartless, it ran.

It ran and it ran on its four fat baby limbs,
till it grew up, strong, but very, very thin.
Your baby feasted for a thousand days and nights,
and grew so vast that it blocked out all the light.

My baby sat in the darkness and the cold,
as did your baby sit, till they both grew very old
They never talked, they never walked - …
but this is the story of tomorrow.
