This is my entry for 's contest
She asked us to create a new outfit for Link and so this is what I came up with ^_^ I wanted to see him in a kind of fancy outfit. I really like how it came out and I really hope I win the contest

I like this. It's like Link goes to some formal party, actually dressed up instead of fresh from the road. Couple of comments:
I miss the hat! Sorry, had to say it. Not a problem, just a missing hat.
The cape... bothers me. seen from the back, it looks like a loose vest. Seen from the front, it looks like he had 4/5 of his cape cut off. That, plus the vest (which looks great in it's own right) gives me the impression Link stole that part of his ensemble from a midget he met along the way.
I poke fun, but really, the overall effect is a good one. The buckle and clasp look interesting without becoming the focus of the outfit. The sword looks especially interesting - not same-old, but not too far from the original idea. The outfit as a whole looks nice, and formal, and new - and it stands out as being one of the few to not include green, lending more towards royal colors as opposed to forest ones.
It's got my vote.

I made this because i have been Dying to see link on something more formal XD I mean, c'mon, he just Saved the Kingdom! He deserves a nice banquet or something to celebrate and some nice clothes XD
As for the cape, well, I was on a short cape kick XD Plus i thought it would really accetuate the outfit. And the little vest is more for a splash of color and an added layer. Cause it seems formal outfits are all about layers XD

I totally got your logic, by the way. It made sense as soon as I saw the picture. It really speaks for itself - a good, and rare, thing for artwork to do.
As a side note, I didn't really mind the vest at all - I just liked the idea of Link mugging a midget for his formal clothes on his way to a ceremony.
