I've had this laying around for over a month and never finished it. This was something I was going to make for this year's Valentine's Day, but I ended up giving up on it because not everything about it fully tracked with me. Like... I feel like I had a pretty good setup, but the ending was where it all kinda fell apart. To be clear, it mostly boils down to the fact that most V-days I use as an excuse to flaunt my ships. In this case, it was mostly centered around my ship of Zangief x Eagle. It starts off with Marisa and Rainbow Mika confessing their love for Zangief, and him politely trying to turn them down, only for Eagle to reveal himself as Zangief's chosen one and yadda yadda. The biggest issue here is that I was at a bit of a loss as to who to pair Mika up with. I used El Fuerte, but honestly... I don't ship them together. I like having El Fuerte as an unrequited kinda thing, where El Fuerte crushes on Mika, but it's not returned (in that same manner, I like having Mika crushing on Zangief without him returning her feelings). I do ship Marisa and Manon, though, but not Mika and Fuerte. I know Mika and Nadeshiko is a popular ship, too, but I don't ship that, either (to me, they just come off as close friends at best, but moreso like friendly work colleagues). Aaaaaanywho, since I couldn't really make this work and ended up inserting a ship that I honestly don't ship... I didn't feel like I was really being true to myself, and I still wanted some kind of happy ending of sorts. Eh, this didn't work out and so it'll remain unfinished. I only didn't trash it because I kinda like how the finished characters came out (Zangief remains completely unfinished; I didn't even give him any of his scars yet), which was also the reason I've decided to upload/share this WIP, as well. Also... I believe this is the first time I've ever drawn Manon, too.

Hopefully next year's Valentine's Day will have me drawing something I can fully embrace and is free of any compromises. Like I said, I tend to draw stuff for V-day as an excuse to showcase pairings I ship. And since this has a pairing I don't ship, I wasn't really being true to myself with it.
