"Wow Zeus really isn't happy." Percy mumbled as he drew Annabeth against himself; leaning into her skin for warmth. She sighed in response and glanced to the window where she could see that the snow storm had really picked up outside. The sound of the wind running through the trees in the forest was making her body shiver even though she was perfectly warm wrapped up in Percy's arms.

"I know, but I can't stay any longer." She attempted to pry herself away from him but he just pulled her closer and nuzzled his face into her hair.

"But it's cold outside."

"Percy my cabin is literally a half minute walk away." She reminded him, but felt herself giving into the warmth of his gentle arms and putting her head against his shoulder.
"But it's cold outside." He reminded her again, as if she hadn't spoken at all. Rolling her eyes Annabeth flipped around so that she was facing him, eye to eye, nose to nose, her legs wrapped around his middle.

"I'm sorry Percy. This evening…"

"I'm not happy unless you're here." He pouted and pulled out the big green puppy dog eyes.

"…has been amazing. But it's almost midnight, Malcolm will start to worry." Percy scoffed.

"Since when did you care about Malcolm? C'mon wise girl, what's your hurry? Can't you wait to get rid of me?"

"Don't be silly Percy, but…I'm the cabin leader. The whole of the Athena cabin will be pacing the floor if I'm not back tonight." But another glance down at his puppy eyes made her frozen heart melt. "Fine…maybe a half hour more. Tops." Percy grinned and scrambled up from underneath her, going over to his secret stash the back of the cabin (where he kept all of the stolen goods he bought from Connor and Travis).

"You know if the other cabins see me sneaking back this late they're going to think…" Annabeth trailed off and felt a flush appear on her cheeks. She really didn't want to finish that sentence, but they were both 16 year olds and their godly family wasn't exactly known for abstinence…

"It's getting worse out there." Percy replied as the window panes rattled under the stress of the storm.
He came back with two cans of Pepsi and a pair of ginger bread cookies for the two of them and sat down on the floor. Annabeth slid down from the bed to join him, popped her can open and took a sip of the drink, immediately spitting it out.

"What in the name of Hades is in that drink?" she demanded. Confused Percy took a sip of his own drink and spat it out too.

"I think the Stolls have hustled me. This is…" He took another sip "That is most definitely tomato juice." Annabeth made a face and placed the can back down, picking up her gingerbread bread man and taking a bite to get rid of the taste. Once it was all gone, legs, belly, arms and head she brushed the crumbs off her lap onto the floor.

"You're not leaving?" Percy asked pulling out the puppy dog eyes and Annabeth huffed.

"I wish I knew how to say no to you when you do that."

"You can't, many have tried and many have failed." He took another sip of tomato juice

"You know this isn't too bad once you get used to it." Annabeth nodded and leaned into the side of the bunk.

"I'm sure."

"You know the crazy weather makes your hair go all puffy."

"Gee thanks, what a loving, thoughtful thing for you to say." Annabeth said in a mock hurt voice and attempted to brush though her hair with her fingers.

"No no, I meant it has a compliment, I like it when your hair goes all puffy, it's like cotton candy, and I really like cotton candy."

"Well don't try and eat my hair."

"Do I look that stu...Don't answer that." Annabeth chuckled and Percy downed the rest of his tomato juice. He then seemed to notice the 4 foot gap which had appeared between the two of them.

"Mind if I move in a little closer? I'm cold and you have warm skin."

"Well I ought to say no after the way you just insulted me." But she let him move anyway, and somehow his arm found its way around her waist and her head dipped into his shoulder.

"Well at least you could say I tried." She murmured with a smile as she leaned into his lips and pulled away again. "I can still taste tomato juice on you." Rolling his eyes Percy pulled a blanket down from one of the beds and wrapped it around them both as they tangled themselves together to try and get warm. They sat like that for a while, just huddled close to each other and enjoying each other's body heat.

Annabeth liked it when it was like this, when they found comfort in the silence, though that was mostly because when there was no silence Percy was talking and when Percy was talking he always said something stupid.

"You know if you go out there and get pneumonia and die I'm going to be the one to blame." Percy told her as Annabeth's eyes began to droop, her body relaxed sleepily with ease in his arms.

"Yeah, yeah I get it Percy. It's cold outside."
