In the thicket, Faline gave birth to two healthy fawns.
The girl, Gurri, younger by mere minutes, was feisty and scruffy from the start. She mostly resembled her father but had her mother’s eyes. She also was larger in size than most newborn fawns.
The boy, Geno, was bright and alert from birth. He discovered almost instantly that he liked to annoy his sister by pulling on her long ears. Though he was bashful and a bit nervous when animals came to visit them and congratulate Faline, he had a strong spirit that his father, Bambi, saw right away.
Though Bambi had higher hopes for Geno in the beginning, he loved both of his fawns more than words could say, and he was very proud of the deer they became.
Though the rambunctious and rebellious Gurri was nothing like he had imagined a daughter to be.
For the better, of course.
