Personally I think that Gabriel is male ... but also he's an angel, the greates spirit, created before God created human, also we can say they (angels) don't have sex. I think she/he is more female in Jewish tradition, in christian and muslim Gabriel is definitely "he" 
Anyway, I love your art , I love that original look you gave him ^^ And because of his flip-flops he seems to be a bit hippie ^^

Beside the fact that this is an absolutely awesome picture of one of my favourite angels, I love the fact that s/he is wearing flip-flops.

I was posing for that my self. Thank God I was not wearing heels at the time
