Gotta respect what the author says is canon though. And I do love history, but it's rather disrespectful to actual LGBT people if you throw their sexuality out the window in favor of historical accuracy. It's like saying, "I don't respect you. I won't even respect the person that you want to be with." I'm part of the LGBT community myself, and it is offensive.

It's rude if someone changes a canon sexuality because that shows: 1. they don't know the show well enough to know what sexuality is canon and what isn't. and 2. just imagine how a real person would react to having their own sexuality negated by a bunch of fans. I'd be pretty damn pissed if one day I woke up to find out that someone was forcing me to marry a woman. Sorry, I don't swing that way but you can't force it on me.
You're talking to an actual LGBT person. Guess what? What offends the "allies" is FAR different from what offends actual LGBT people because you aren't actually LGBT and will never be. You will never have our experiences.You will never have to fear for your life because you're LGBT. You've never had to fear using the public bathrooms like us trans* people. You've never been worried that you'll never be allowed to get married to the person you love like us homosexuals and bisexuals.

I never said I disrespected Gay people, I just said that SweUkr is technically not crack, because of their history together. I was only giving my two cents. And I hate to say it, but you're sounding like those yaoi fanbrats who says that we hetero fans are homophobes just because we don't like Yaoi/Yuri. And this is my 2 cents. Leave canon sexualities alone. Personally I like AusHun. It's canon. I hate PrusAus though because 1. Prussia is shown to have feelings for Hungary and 2. that would be getting rid of a canon sexuality. I'm not an avid shipper. I love SuFin because it IS canon. It may be one-sided, but it's still canon. The only confirmed non-hetero nations are France (bisexual or pansexual) and Sweden (homosexual). Everyone else is probably straight.

SuFin makes historical sense too. Their countries were combined for hundreds of years.
If it was historically accurate, then UKUS/USUK would be canon too, as would Ameripan, Rusamerica, etc. Not only the hetero pairing for America would be canon. You forget that the US is friendly with a lot of nations that are personified as men.

Turkraine doesn't make historical sense.
HRExChibitalia was adorable. And Germany has canon feelings for Italy. In the English version he confessed his feelings for the oblivious Italian, but he confessed them in German. And the San Valentino strip had Germany proposing to Italy.
I don't like pairings that:
-Go against canon sexualities
-Aren't canon
-Are selfcest (unless it's Prussia because, well, he's cocky enough to fall in love with himself.)
-Are incest. Ugh I HATE incest.
-Don't make historical sense.
Other than that, I don't mind most pairings.

Germany has canon feelings towards Italy, but as far as we know Italy's straight, despite how he clings to Germany and always cries for him when he's in trouble.

What bugs me about SuFin though is that a lot people paint Finny as a whiny, weak, helpless, little uke that couldn't find his way out of a box. WRONG. He beat the crap outta Russia singlehandedly during the Winter War despite being horribly out numbered, his aim with a sniper rifle is better than Switzerland's, and he's definitely a badass. A lot of SuFin authors horribly screw up Sweden's speech to the point of c'n y' 'nd'rst'nd th's. They also forget that SuFin's one-sided. We know Finland's scared of Sweden (but we also know that Sweden's really shy and tries to help people not fear him) and we don't know Finland's sexuality. Until confirmed otherwise, it can be assumed he's straight.
