This took ages!And no wonder, I experimented a lot, changed it a few times, gave up twice and feared I hade ruined it more times than I want to remember. You know, the usual.
It's been challenging for me, testing a lot of new things and trying to improve myself. Things like light, clouds, fabric, metal, fur and so on proved quite tricky, and most of all it has been a test of my patience. But a good test, I'm pretty happy, and even though I know I can continue fidgeting with it, I'm ending it now, for this time.
It was inspired by an RPG, and an old drawing. Each of the wolves was made with a slightly different technique. I wanted the samurai to look almost like he was made of porcelain (don't ask why, just thought it would look cool), and the colour of his clothes is the same as a siamese fighting fish I had.
This picture was made for a convention I will be attending this weekend, and then we'll see if anyone wants to buy a copy.

Well I have been watching a lot of anime lately because believe it or not there isn't a lot to do in Italy when you have a full work schedule, and there are many elements in your pictures that remind me a lot of the better scenes in what I have been watching. Are you going to carry this any further?

Well, who knows what the future will bring? Right now a lot of energy goes into making my webcomic, and if dreams come true that could someday lead to an awesome anime ('cause who wouldn't love to make one?)

thats really good! maybe a glint or shine on the sword or spear would help add effect!

Thanks! I thought about it, but I wanted the metal of the spear to look kind of dull, like it wasn't normal metal, and for the sword it felt like the moon wasn't enough to allow too much shine, unless we're talking magic. But sure, it would probably add some drama to the pic

Yes, I tried to make them different characters hoping that the picture would become more interesting. It made it more fun to draw them too, picturing what kind of persons they are

your technique is good, and you use your materials well. the colouring is excellent, and there's lots of little detail that most people would simply avoid putting in.
compositionally, the picture falls a bit flat - there's no sense of drama to it, which unfortunately doesn't fit, it needs tension... shifting the viewers perspective ever so slightly to one side would create an immediate sense of being there, and would heighten the anxiety that's showing between the two groups.
include a little negative space to one side too, it would draw our attention to the scene better, and place a little distance between the wolves and the samurai.
it's very cool otherwise!

I was wondering what you meant about the composition though, negative space and shifting perspective. Can you perhaps show me an example of what of what you mean, some picture that illustrates the successful use of these techniques?
