I had my second little exhibition in one library yesterday, so I had to go there and talk a bit about myself and my drawings. Although it was very stressful, I kinda enjoyed it. It was very nice to meet strangers who like my drawings. They actually called me an "artist", I thought it was so sweet

Anyway, I got motivation to draw again (even though I'm so bloody tired...). I decided to draw this screencap from "A Study in Pink", BBC Sherlock. I actually added the hand with the pill, thought it would look awesome This picture isn't any good because I haven't drawn in a long time, pencils felt a little bit strange in my hands.

Love it! What did you use for the dark background? 7B graphite pencil?  I can never get my graphite pencil dark enough and charcoal is hard to blend.


Nice job having an exhibition and did a little speech. Public speech can be so intimidating!

Yes, I used 7B graphite pencil doing the background Well, what kind of pencil do you use? I use Derwent graphite pencils for the darkest parts (7B-9B).

Hehe, that's what I meant in the first place. His interaction with Sherlock is so amazing and Sherlock's insults are plain funny!

More that anything, what I love most about your work.style is the contrasting light & darks. Mainly the highlights. This one is practically glowing. Really awesome. I really love this scene. Almost better than the Moriarty confrontations. Good job inserting the hand/pill, it takes the piece up a notch.

I'm glad you like it. I finally feel like I actually do have my own drawing style. I've noticed that I tend to do high contrasts even when I don't plan it.

How do you usually find your motivation? I like to look through others galleries. Then I always want to draw something myself as well. Sometimes I just read books or watch movies/tv series. It helps a lot
