This was a mod podge project originally inspired by this design [link]The overall finished work hangs 46" across. I've also posted a tutorial. hope you enjoyed!

Ha! That's great! Before I clicked in to see the details, I saw the bicycle tires as eyes, and the red border around Yemen as a dorky little smile. Go little octopus!

I am in absolute love with this piece. Octopus are one of my favorite creatures (next to owls). It looks lovely! I think the bicycle was a nice touch, and I love the effect of sponging the paint over the canvas.

Thanks very much! Owls are beautiful and interesting but Octopi for sure beat them out on my favorites list. I'm so glad you like it. Taia loves the idea as well so we are going to try to make one together when I'm out visiting. Would be awesome to have an old school map in browns but I was on a deadline with this one. I was simply thrilled that a friend had this map in her basement!
