Maybe this is a bit harsh, but there are short swords, and then there's this - it's short enough that I don't think it would be terribly useful - it seems like more of a dagger than a sword to me. The overall design is nice, the embellishments and flourishes are wonderful, but the blade is way too short.

I'm not sure I like the chain. It would make it difficult to use. The tassel seems a bit overdone to me too.

Yeah, it looks better without it in my opinion. Plus the colors of the metals and the red thread don't really match.

I think the designer may have meant it as something to do with the crusades, but this is how the sword came, and it's inscribed "Robin of Locksley" on the pommel.
