This piece is really lovely, and shows an excellent scene in the movie. There are some parts, like Aisling's nose, that could look better. Her nose could definitely be shorter. The hair on top of her head sort of disappears, and the green shapes coming from the book are sort of plain-ish. These are minor details, however, and the piece as a whole is, to put it simply, amazing. It flows wonderfully and I love how you just continued the picture over the binding! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> I'm really new to writing critiques, so I'm not sure if this writing is any good, but I think this picture is beautiful with not much room to improve.

I simply love the movie as well as the picture for that matter, so I'm going to critique you... Please tell me if I'm being to harsh, I don't wanna offend anyone! >w<
I'd like to start with the anatomy, since that's usually the first subject I cover when I critique. Might I say that you replicated the style of the film so well, which I noticed because of the red cheeks and abstract figure, not to mention the lady's swirly hair and unique color. Unfortunately though, however well you drew the style the anatomy in the movie isn't very realistically correct, though I do think you pulled it off nicely on this one as I see a difference in comparison. The only thing that bothers me is that the boys arm could be a tad bit higher, or maybe pulled in a bit more since the draping cloak/shirt makes his arm look very big and a little wonky. Their noses are also bothering me; if you were aiming for how they drew it in the movie, I think you missed the target by a bit, because I think they're a bit too long and not pointed enough. Also, the kitties middle toe looks a little mis-formed, and I also noticed that it seems that his body is a little too scrunched up as his tail seems a little too close to his back. I only think this because cat's tails start out thin at the base then slowly fan out as they are in length, and the end of the tail is still fairly thick at the end, so instead of attaching to his rear it'd be more like where his legs should be.
Something else I noticed too, the color you outlined the boys hand in looks darker in comparison to the color you used for his face. I know this was probably for some extra detail, but it was definitely one of the major things I noticed.

Now time for the more positive things~! >w<
For one, I simply LOVE the color scheme you're using! The orange you used for the boy blends so nice with the paper, and I like how you evened out the colors with the girl by putting a splash of orange against the purple. Great way to blend the two characters together without making it look so harsh and sudden. ^w^ The shading is great, too, all the ripples and crinkles in his robe look really neat when you blend all of the lighter darker colors together. And those little ear swirls. *dies* Talk about an eye for detail, it's the little things I really enjoy. :3
The leaves seeming to fly out of the book adds a nice touch to it, too. Really unique way to do it by using a brush.

So overall, I'll give you 8.5 out of 10 Nyan cats for this piece. Aside from a few minor things, I really like it, though I'm going to have to cut down the stars for the image quality. >w>;
