Andy had an easy life. Not only did she love horses, but she had the talent for it. Everything fell into place for Andy: a beautiful, Dutch Warmblood with the talent to reach Grand Prix, her coach's support (and jealous admiration). Things started off slowly, mucking out stalls and all the other hazing rituals. Before she knew it, she was part of the official team for a very respectable stable. Olympic trials, gold medals, her future was being handed to her almost on a silver platter. Andy only had one problem, it was about 6 inches between his legs.
Andy arrived at a crossroads: postpone her career 6-12 months for surgery, or keep smiling through people assuming she was a he. Her manager and the stable warned her - if she went through with it, it would be termination of contract. They owned her horses, her tack, everything down to her boots. Keep it all, or take a large severance package and have a nice life. She walked out of the office with a check between her teeth and middle fingers raised. Everything went great, she even found work at some little Australian stable with complimentary on-site accommodation that were willing to let her start as soon as she'd recovered from surgery. Even if it meant setting her career back another few years, it was well worth it to finally feel like herself. And Faraday even said she was allowed to dye her hair pink despite competing.
Faraday adores her, and even if he was an ass Miles was always respectful. In a way, she became Faraday's first attempt at raising a child, and still turns into a massive, spoiled baby at the slightest inconvenience. She's riding back at the internaional/Olympic level, with her new mare Orizuru who Faraday assures will always belong to her. She has the energy of a hamster after three red bulls, and wastes time between competitions being the biggest pain in the ass you'd ever meet.
