ah well this town was named after Portugese or Dutch sailed in as I know. So there has to be a link

probably....thought that portuguese sailors went thru the Japan in ancient times...maybe after stopped in mediterranean sea (where Italy is, also.) they sailed straightforward to India...where they're well known for Goa (do you remember?) or Macao (near Honk Kong)...and maybe this is the reason...imho...

Yes they were in India and here at the same time. Goa is a famous holiday destination too
