i guess it did a little. just dont be afraid to leave the face a little tender and smooth. how undetailed u make it is up to u.(but i guess it depends if u wanted to make it completely realistict and really detailed showing our every flaw or completely realistic and detailed but still leaving just enough expression in yur pic to let the viewer know your feelings. thats why art was made! the face affects that last one alot!) and it needed that added color from the second pic.
just remember that there is a line between realistic, perfect, detailed, too detailed, and way too detailed.

Wow. Very nice! I can't believe you did this in three hours. The hair has some sort of holographic effect when I look at it close up, awesome use of brush effects. The coloring you did on this is stunning. This is using gradient mesh, right? I'm amazed at how seamless everything is.
It definately kinda looks flappy around her neck though, not like bone underneath the skin. Something about the way the clothing sits on her right shoulder (our left) doesn't seem right though. It looks too flat at the edges.
Anyways, this is brilliant.
