Those are usually the knuckles of the gloves. We always see them in numerous artworks, both in 3D and digital.

Oh okay, I sort of feel like they weren't needed, but I at least know what they are now.
Since his hand is straightened out, his knuckles shouldn't show.
Other than that, I love the pic.
