Rambriel is incredibly intelligent. He knows things that he should not know, sees things he should not see. He uses his knowledge and powers of observation to pick apart people, enjoying every second he takes of doing so. He will often plague someone for weeks or months, just to suddenly 'forget about;' them one day.
History: Rambriel’s mother and father had been wanderers before he was born breaking off from their herds, just simply wandering to and fro the isles in quite a happy state. His mother was a rather large appaloosa, very sweet and compliant. She loved Rambriel’s father with all her heart, and he her, and they would have followed each other anywhere. His father was a Clydesdale, and although he was normally sweet as well, he had his ‘fatherly’ moments. When Rambriel was born, the family couldn’t have been happier. Everything seemed perfect for the small family. They wandered from isle to isle when the tides allowed, drank sweet water and ate delicious grass whenever they pleased. Until one day, when Ram was 14, his father fell ill. He was weak and tattered-looking, with sunken in eyes and short breath. During this time, they unknowingly wandered into a territory supposedly belonging to an aggressive lone stallion and his daughter. The stallion was clearly deranged, his eyes were full of madness, and he went by the the name of Balrog.
His daughter, Thalil, enchanted young Rambriel away from his family one night, her flaxen mane and liver chestnut coat a beautiful contrast to Rambriel's young eager eyes. She bewitched him into thinking she adored him, dancing about him like leaves on the wind. Young Rambriel was drawn to her like nothing he had ever known before.
However, while the daughter lured Rambriel away, Thalil's deranged father attacked Rambriel's mother and father, wounding the other stallion gravely and nearly killing the mare with a blow to the skull. He stole thier items like he had stolen countless other horses' items.
Hearing a commotion in the distance, Rambriel ran back only to find his family in flight for thier lives. Thalil laughed at him for being so gullible, sinking her teeth into his shoulder, leaving a large wound. Confused, hurt and afraid, Rambriel tore after his family.
Rambriel’s father died of his wounds shortly after they escaped from the area. Rambriel's mother was completely heartbroken. She was no longer the same and offered Rambriel no more love, which he desperately tried to get back. He attempted nursing her to health, and even tried to take her to the Witch to see if she would, or somehow, could help. His mother and Father had never really told him about the witch and her road, and his mind spun fairy tails about her. Rabriel's mother eventually began to recede inside of herself, and become more and more distant, until one day Rambriel simply found her dead where she had fallen asleep the previous night. He did not mourn. No, to him, his mother had died long ago. Her body was just that- a body. Her soul had long gone.
After this, Rambriel believed love was a tragic emotion for the pitiful and weak of mind.
So, Rambriel became a wanderer. He wandered just as he had when he parents lived; to and from isles, sleeping beneath trees, finding the best grass. But something was missing,.. something felt wrong, and he couldn't pinpoint it. But what he was feeling was loneliness.
During this time, he became so consumed with the thought of revenge for his parents (for in his mind, Balrog had killed both of them) that he went back to the territory where his father had been killed. Balrog was there, as if he were waiting. Thalil was nowhere to be seen. The other stallion taunted Rambriel, and fight ensued. Both stallions were injured, but fueled by his rage and hatred Rambriel killed the lone stallion, butchering his body with his hooves, tearing out his heart with his teeth. After that he was never the same. He became closed off, cold, and reclusive, and had a cruel glint in his bi-colored eyes.
He began to observe anything and anyone who crossed his path. Eventually, he became so skilled that just a glance could tell him more about a person than a full conversation could.
At the age of 20, he stumbled upon a small herd, who confronted him about who he was. Since the death of his mother he had never really been much of a talker, he just mumbled out a few sentences. They questioned hm further, until he gave in and spun a tale about why he was alone. He had thought of joining a herd, but he did, on the other hand, enjoy being alone. He left their company only to come back a few days later to ask if he could join up, and, he said, it wouldn't be for long. Although skeptical, the herd allowed him to join.
Rambriel often stays far away from the other members of the herd. He only speaks when spoken to, and appears to only keep to himself. However he has done his fair share of protecting the herd from predators, and due to his large size, he is quite intimidating. Being the largest in the herd, he feels slightly out of place and often thinks of returning to his solitary life, even though in the back of his mind, he does enjoy the company of other horses. Except the annoying ones. He hates those.
He can be quite threatening, so he suggests you don't get on his nerves.
Rabriel mysteriously dissapeared from his herd during the Fires and the time when the hers saught to cross the waters. Nobody knew where he went, but one morning he was seen back with his herd, and though he was questioned he would not answer. Nobody but Rambriel knows what happened for those weeks...
Rambriel currently enjoys toying with the members of the Exile herd, picking them apart using his observation skills.
Rambriel has never thought about love or the possibility of a mate since the death of his father. But all it would take is the right shaped key for the distorted keyhole to his heart!
