Didn't u use an reference? just cause that guy won using your "art work" doesn't mean he copied u-_- this picture is shown in episode 48 gaara vs lee so he could've used that as a reference

thanks (: I can't really remember anymore... I started one afternoon and finished it the next day in the morning... but all I did that night was drawing... hehe.
I think now, 6 years later, it would not take me that long anymore... and it would be even cooler (;

just keep on drawing and you'll get better every day!
sometimes you have to take a short break in drawing and then resume drawing some days later, so you can get the needed distance from the drawing and refill your motivation AND fantasy (: and then you'll think - aaw man, what the hell was I thinking? - and then you can make it better!

I used very soft graphite pencils and for very few parts of the drawing i used coal and smudged it a little bit... I colored the eyes with blue pencils and the 'love' letter on his forehead with water based pencils and smudged them with a wet brush! so no magic in there (:
