Description
For a friend of mine who wanted a tattoo of a lion and a lamb.
And the sun, the moon and the stars.
The image is to remind us that lions are not only positive characters in Biblical representation. Sure, there is the great lion of Judah (Rev 5:5), but there is also the enemy who roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet 5:8).
The Lamb has no other connotation other than innocence, purity and the sacrifice that makes atonement for the sins of man (Exodus 12; John 1:29).

The Halo around the Lamb's head represents the Sun, the origin of light. The lamb is a symbol of innocents and the source of righteousness for many, just as the sun is the source of life and light for all.

The moon simply reflects the light of the sun, just like the people who follow any spiritual teaching should do with the teachings of their particular way. The stars can be seen as little suns; children born in the image of their father (this imagery is taken from the dream that Joseph had in Genesis 37:9-11).

What would happen if the moon refused to shine the sun's light? How dark would our nights be? And what if the stars stopped shining their lights? That would be a dark night indeed.

This image asks you to question what kind of lion you are.

Instead of being a just and fair ruler; faithful and true, this lion, could turn around and eat the lamb...
